So Ive come back to this 500pt army list I put together a bit ago, and was curious if it's missing something for such low pts.

HQ- Shas'El Cyclic Ion Blaster, Plasma Rifle, Targetting
Array, HW-Drone Controller and 1x Shield
Drone.
Elite- 3x Stealth Team w/ burst cannons
Troops- 3x 6 man Fire Warrior squads
Fast Attack- 2x Piranhas w/ burst cannons

I was thinking of rekitting the Shas'El with two fusion blasters, to mirror the use of Shadowsun in future lists.
Any ideas for it are welcome!

It's really hard to critique army lists of 500 points, bud.

Almost anything works well at 500 points, against almost anything--because there's not a whole lot there.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

The Commander.
Two fusion blasters counts as one twin linked fusion blaster. That is a waste of points and a hardpoint for a shas'el.

I am not a fan of the cyclic ion blaster, its too unreliable, though it soon officially 'rends'.
Take the plasma rifle 'as always' then either missile pod or airburst frag. Missile pod is the normal config, airburst frag deals with infantry in cover. Cameleoline guard are popular in very small lists and can be a real pain in a wood or building.

The Stealthsuits.
Optimise the team by taking four with no upgrades, or use all your stealthsuits in two units of three. One fusion blaster per team would be a good idea in case the opponent takes a tank.

Troops.
This is fine, though I would consider some kroot in a list this small.

Fast Attack.
These piranhas are waiting to die, and will take 20% of your list with them when they do. Replace them with some kroot or another stealthsuit team.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Stelek is pretty much correct. You almost have to try to make an army list that sucks at 500. It's doable, but I doubt you'll manage it by accident.

You do need some kind of AT, though, even if it's just a missile pod or two. I would always try to take a vehicle at 500, since they're so much better there than at higher points values where they're easy meat, so people like you need to take something to stop people like me from getting a free pass. If no vehicle should present itself, no worries, as a missile pod is never wasted.
