If you're playing in tournaments/games where deep strike is always allowed, I'd recommend taking the jungle fighters doctrine. You can give a few squads a heavy flamer and a regular flamer, and they will be invaluable in taking out horde armies. Between the two flamers, you should be able to get several wounds even on marines, so it's fairly handy. I put the heavy flamer on a large weapon team base like any other heavy weapon, so when I'm setting up the troops after they land I can easily position the heavy flamer to get the maximum amount of hits on the enemy.
Other than that, I've found it's tough to play if your opponent knows it is coming. Can easily castle and cause major problems, not to mention problems if you DO play in an area that has alpha-level games.
