For anyone who is interested I found a very fun and interesting MMO called Urban Dead. The game itself is very simple (and free). You are survivors caught in a city that has been sealed off by the military and is overrun with zombies. You can play as a survivor or a zombie, everyone in the city is played by someone.

I've been playing this for about a year now, it's great fun. I'm in the legion of the octopope in south west malton, we specialise in necrotech defenses and seiges.

Run through it 3 times now, variety of characters. I enjoyed my zombie lord character the most I think, but let it drop for good maybe a year ago.

Cool that people are doing it as 40k RP though, hadn't thought of that.

The 50AP sucks, though. At first level, anyway...
I'm playing a Zombie and, I'll tell you, You can't get to anyone AND kill them with 50 AP, unless they're already near dead (I DID Kill Mrs. Claus like that today, though tee hee hee).

I wish giving a donation would give you more AP, as well.

Yeah, the game's major problem is that as a low level zombie it's hard going. It gets better as soon as you get lurching gait and ankle grab though.
The best bet is to find a horde and attach yourself to it. The experienced, max level zombies do the hard work of opening the cades for you, then you get to go in and earn some XP from the defenders. I like the 50 AP limit, it makes the game much more tactical than others of it's ilk.

How do you "attach" to a horde?
...or are you just saying to find one & stop at it?

I honestly don't have the time to get on any of their lists or anything to coordinate with a group of 'em.

I've already discovered the benefits of finding a slew of zombies when I stop to "rest."
Of course, I leech a few xp off of some of them, too... and have been the "leechee" as well as the "leecher," if you KWIM.

A question... as a Zombie, I've logged in, only to see that, while I was gone, PEOPLE have healed me.
WTF?
What purpose would THAT serve?
They didn't try to "raise" me or anything... just gave me some HP.
One even said, "You owe me one."

They heal you because they get exp for it.

I remember that when you have certain items as a human and then go back to undeath you can use them and/or they modify your zombie attaks. Like I think if you have a shotgun as a human, die and resurrect your first couple hits are at shotgun strength. Or something like that, was a bug that never got worked out while I was playing.

Also, if you can equip gas mask while human - under the clothing option that changes depending on the building you're in - you gain "headbutt" as a zombie

I meant that you should find a big group and follow them around. You're safer, and they'll crack open buildings for you to feast inside...

Only the one, though, has the punch for 1 HP @ 10%.
Oddly enough, he also has "Vigor mortis," which none of the others have.

Oh... but he doesn't get the bonus he's supposed to get for it.

I consider myself lucky... I get to play my 160 shots at work, then go home and throw down another 160 at home.
I'd imagine that, if i wanted to cheat, I could keep switching my IP around and spend every point my little Zombies get.
Of course, that wouldn't be right, so i won't do that. I guess I'll just SUFFER with my 320 points a day! LOL

I think I'm gonna start a little kid zombie (about 7 or 8) & put something in his description about just being a kid and please, don't hurt me... I only attack those icky zombies. I'm hoping to be human again some day. That'll be funny... and a lie. LOL

Ah well. Loot yourself a Flak jacket for bulletproof goodness, do some body building for more hit points and then go find another zombie to chow down on you, he'll be grateful for the XP.

I have a level11 Civillian and Level 11 Cop in Monroeville who both just got headshot.
The Civi's already taken one Zed out... The Cop's heading out with 2 other characters to go hunting.

Look out Zombies, we're comin; after you.


BTW... WOW, I had no understanding of the game, at first.
The whole thinkg with the bat... Someone had revivified me & I had no idea... that Zombie can still use the bat, though... at 10%.

Just started today.

Level 1, military.
Dropped into Tollyton, attacked a zombie with pistol- hitting twice, 10xp, ran away and got into a fire dept- found a radio (nothing on radio) and a fire axe (better than a fist and won't waste pistol shots).
Then tried to get into Woodrofe mall- locked up tight so went to winward avenue police dept- got in and searched- found a clip and a shotgun shell.

So now have:
Pistol (had)
3 pistol clips
Fire axe
Radio
Shot gun shell.

Tomorrow will search some more- and use this police station as a base as there are a heap of peole in here and I'm after firearms type equip and a flak jacket and this will be the place to get it.
There are some zombie hordes to the east so will pop over there and expend 10APs per day in attacks with fire axe to lift my xp- so I can get some more firearms training, then use the rest of my APs to search the police station.

The wiki is so helpful as you are playing, I was reading it last night and was a bit rough, but now playing its really useful as you go along.

Reading more into the wiki I think that when I get a couple of levels up and some skills I'll head north into a more heavily zombified area and try and help out there, there seems to be way too many suburbs as red ATM.

Grrr.... 23 action points saved up- go out 2 squares, find a zombie- 18HP... proceed to miss with pistol (30% chance of hit) 12 times in a row then Finally do one wound and have to run back to the Police Station to camp.... 3 more hits (would have been about average) and could have gotten the extra xp of a kill....

Then search 4 times... and find nothing. Now low on pistol shells. I think I'll leave it the next 7 hours (about to go to bed), search like crazy tomorrow morning to get more pistol clips, then another 24 hours will go out and lay the smack down an a zombie.

Damn its addictive.

Heh yeah just started up playing as well. Pretty fun little game to play on your 15 minute breaks each day.

Other ways to boost XP are by healing people and by training.
"Training" is, basically, finding another willing participant and beating the crud out of them, then healing them back.
You get half XP for each hit 5 XP for each heal.
You'll find more willing "trainees" in hospitals because that's where you find the most Kirst Aid Kits (FAKs).
Word to the wise... Do not do any damage you don't have enough FAKs to heal. People HATE being left wounded.

There are some who think that's the cheap way to do it... but the Zed's have an advantage. Not only do THEY get to do it on each other, but they don't worry about healing them back... Their target just stands up again and is out nothing but a few AP.

As a living character, you want to get the following things ASAP (in no particular order):

Free Running
Generic gun training (forget the exact term)
Pistol training
Axe training
Bodybuilding

Other things are valuable. those are important.

Also, finding a Flak jacket, pistol, clips and (hopefully) a shotgun & shells is important, too... not to mention FAKs. ALWAYS keep one fak in reserve. If you get infected by a Zombie bite, then die and are later revived, you'll still be infected and take 1HP of damage per action... A FAK clears that up, so it should be the 1st thing you do after being revived (learned THAT one the hard way).

Also... I noticed from one of my early characters... humans tend to take a SEVERE dislike to Zombies with Brain Rot. LOL

LOL some idiot increased the building's barricades from very strong to extreme and now noone can get out.

Got to burn my APs by searching though and got more pistol clips and a flak jaket.

If I can get out I'll head off to a hospital and get a FAK

As another funny, I found myself online today at the same time as a human... I chased him around attacking him & infected him.
He got so desperate, he tried to use a NecroTech syringe on me to combat-revive me... but that Zombie had Brain Rot, so it didn't work. Oh, how I laughed at the feeble attempts of the flesh-sack.

I "Graaagh"ed at him, after... the closest choice I had to a laugh.

He got a way by "Free running" to another building.

Great fun, though!

Overnight a zombie got in but someone was active and killed it.

Left the police dept and kound the next PD is able to be gotten into and out of so killed a zombie (used all my bullets then 16 attacks on 10% to hit with a bat to knock off the last wound!

As a private I'll be getting free running next, just need 7 xp- so will have to search for pistol clips as fire axe and punch are to damned low chance.

Also searched the Police Department and found a shotgun! For my 1 shotgun shell. :(

Unfortunately a horde of zombies passed through last night and Tollyton is now a 'red' suburb....

That game sounds like a lot of fun. My gaming group found this mod for Half Life 2 called Zombi Panic Source where you're either a zombie who has this weird toggle able zombie vision where everything is white and black but heat is red. All of the survivors get weapons but they're irregularly spaced out, and zombies have double the HP of survivors. It is quite a lot of fun since it uses voIP for forming strategies on each team.
