I'm kind of lost when it comes to hiding as most of the games I have played were undead vs skaven. The skaven had no real shooting threat to fear and the undead were played towards a zombie horde and hiding doesnt fit (thematically) with brain dead models.

A hidden can only be charged if they are detected first?

A hidden model is detected when an enemy model can see the hidden model? Is this where "Intiative inches" of detection comes in?

Ive checked the "ultimate FAQ" over on mordheimer and come up with blanks.

About the Skaven, I played them and I had some luck with slings. After a couple of heros leveled up I gave them the skill (can't think of the name off hand) to use other missle weapons and gave him a bow.

I agree about the theme of a shambling horde of zombies (I am a Vampire Counts player in WHFB), I would say they cannot hide, but that would be more of a house rule. You and your friend should lay some down reguarding that. If worse comes to worse, roll off!

Yes, your model has to be aware of the enemy to charge it. Remember that if you charge around a corner, you have to make an initiative test to do it.

Yes. When your model is equal to or less than your initiative to a hidden enemy, it is detected and no longer hidden.

I hope I have been some help for you! Hope to see some battle reports! Good luck and happy gaming!

A quick note on Skaven and slings- massed slings are one of the most deadly things in MH. The massed pellets far exceed the usefulness of bows, despite the range (Skaven are quick anyway).
