With what I've seen of 5th edition, primarily the idea of Run and now the +4 cover save idea for being screened, I thought that it might be fun to build a CC WH army. I just started one to go along with my IG since I love many of the models, but I thought that perhaps this build would be a bit more competitive in 5th than in 4th, although it is still primarily just for fun.
This list isn't fully built yet, no point values, just a rough template for how to run it.
HQ:
Inquisitor Lord - Force/Hood/Bolt Pistol/Rosarius
2 Crusaders
1 Combat Servitor
3 Acolytes w/ Carapace
Rhino/Chimera w/ Smoke/Extra Armor
TROOP:
Storm Troopers x 5
2 x Plas
Storm Troops x 5 w Priest
2 x Flamers
Inducted Guard Platoon/Armored fist
Inducted Guard Platoon/Armored fist
ELITE:
Vindicare/Evesor/Callidus assassin
6 x Arco-Flagellants
6 x Arco Flagellants
FAST:
Rough Riders
Sentinels
HEAVY:
Leman Russ
3 x Penitent Engines
3 x Penitent Engines/Lance Strike
Depending on the set up, the list could easily be 1500 or even 2000. Really, the CC meat of it is the 12 Arco's which can now run to save the chem injectors until they are within charge range, the 3-6 engines which can run (not sure how run would work with say Holy Rage, if its one or the other or if they can actually move 6 + 2d6), Rough riders for a quick one turn charge or counter charge for a small gunline IG plas/las firebase. The sentinels would probably have MLs for horde killing and taking out lightly armored vehicles. The russ would do what russ's do. Depending on necessity, a callidus can be great in any situation, a vindicare for extra shooting power (or to take out hidden PFs), or an Evesor for even more CC. In a smaller game, lance strike can be great for making sure I can try to punish an enemy that tries to keep away by keying in a piece of terrain I can assume they are going to try to hide behind to avoid the charge, but I figure in a larger game, having more Engines is probably much more important.
So this is the rough idea in my head, if anything It would be a fun army to build and paint, even if it is not competitive.
