I'm trying to write some fiction and I need to know some information about the Length, weight, crew-size, and other vital statistics of Imperial interstellar warships. Specifically the Avenger-class grand cruiser and the Dauntless-class light cruiser. Any help would be appreciated.

It's hard to do since GW fluff is erratic about these things. I remember one book where a missile went from being a 1000 feet long to a 1000 yards.
that being said Jeff Russell's Starship Dimensions site has taken a good stab at it.

According to his sources they're huge. The Battlestar Galactica is like the size of the eagle on an Emperor battleship.
Good site, and you can drag and drop images to compare side-by-side.

That's just his estimation. I always thought an emperor class battleship would be something along the lines of 15 miles long or so.

actually I go the other way.
Gw artwork is offscale, for a better reference just look at titan artwork. You can get images of what are blatantly warlord titans which must be 300m tall by the scale of the artwork. They are actually about 30m tall. The picture with a warlord advancing behind Salamanders is a case in point.
You have to go by the miniatures really, and then get the artwork that matches them. The only artwork for BSG that matches the miniatures is in the comic that comes with the boxset. By looking at the Dictator cruiser and comparins it with the bridge scenes and the fighters it carried we can estimate its size at approx 2 miles in length. All other vessels are scaled accordingly except planet killer and the Blackstones, neither are known to be in scale with the other miniatures and its anyones guess how big they are.

I heard that Imperial battle ships are about 8 miles long and displace millions of tonnes, they can have 1km thick ramming bows and have a Imperial palace as a bridge. And i know that Grand Cruisers are about 6 miles long but thats all i know on GW ships, sorry.

Just to add yet more numbers to this unsubstantiated discussion, I've always believed Imperial Cruisers to be about 3km, Battleships 5km and escorts just under 1km.
