Nice. I like the ghostly grey colors and the empty head sockets just make them look more eerie. Certainly not a typical UM force, more like 1000 Sons.

I especially like the missing arms. Reminds me of the Black Knight in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".

x9 Rhinos w/ bits to make x3 Pred Annihiltors, x3 Pred Destructors, x3 Whirlwinds, x9 Razorbacks. All seperate, but eventually each will be rewarded their own Rhino chassis. 18 Rhino-type tanks, ftw.

Just seeing that pile of plastic reminds me why I go one squad at a time. Seeing like 50 or more models and thinking "I still have to paint those" would crush me.

This is exactly why my Dark Angels 4th Company has sat half finished since the original 3rd Edition Codex.

They had the SM Battle Company on sale for $450 at my local GW last saturday after the auction. I'd never even dream of it though. "The mind is willing but the body is weak and spongey."

Well, I arrived at this thread, but I'm not quite sure what you'd like us to do.

Do you want speed painting methods? I could give you some of those, or at least point you towards some nicer speed painting methods. Are you interested in that?

That is a lot of marines! I just picked up a battle company box myself. I didn't realize how many guys it would be all ranked up like that! Plus, twenty of mine will be assaulter's, so their footprint is a little bigger. Still, just ranked up, you have 124 marines. That is a good bit bigger than a battle company! If you add in the guys that you still have to get in pictures and that is another fifty guys easy. I could see quite a few chapters being generous on the size of their companies, but for the Ultras to be nearly 70% over strength seems a little wild! Still, I'll be watching this to get psyched up for making my Blood Ravens 5th company (loyalist tzeentch renegades ftw!)

Damn FedEx left box without sig confirmation and some damn fool took it. I called GW today for tracking number and I punched in when I got home. I discovered it was delivered last Friday. My jaw hit floor! Police were here. I filed report. Calling FedEx and GW to see what will be done.

I'm just sick about it. Knowing I had stuff here, but it's been stolen by some POS punk.

On top of that GW did redo of how bits are done. I ordered day before switch over. So I'm possibly totally f**ked.

Slowly upgrading some models to Corvus pattern power armor. Like another 25 or so.

Bottom picture is 4th company. Tactical heavy weapons on right 6 heavy bolter, 5 lascannons, 1 missile launcher. 2 Devastators sqds have 8 heavy bolters.

This project is painfully slow. I need to trim arms and heads and bolters tacticals. All heavy weapons are trimmed.

Short term plan is to paint a squad of Macragge box marines to get feel for paint scheme.

Long term plan is to get everything moldline trimmed and ready for paint.

Hey Old Man Ultra- did GW or FedEx ever do right by you after you had that bitz order stolen? Sure hope so.

I'm still waiting on it. I talked to GW customer service yesterday. He is awaiting word from GW Memphis on what they have left. Then GW UK may have to be called upon to replace what Memphis doesn't have.

All in all a debacle, but I'm patient. Going on 1+ month since my original order.

Snot-nosed punk is still around, but he knows to not cross my path.

Well I got some citadel primer this past weekend. Going to helm the paint brush for first time in 4-5 years.

Probably going to start easy by priming some heavy weapons black and drybrushing boltgun metal.

I'll post pictures of my progress....

April 1st, 2008 (April fools day, ftw)

The package arrived with all that I ordered included. I'm happy as hell it made it here, but not so happy it came to my address again. I had called GW customer service x3 times. Each time confirming they would be mailing to my parents place. There was potential to be stolen again. Luckily I was just waking up and could answer the door.

It was stolen. I have not seen anything anywhere.

Took from Feb. 11th til April 2nd to have replaced. I paid nothing.

Glad to here you got your package. That sucks that it got stolen. I remember all the threats those punks were getting from the guys here...Good Times(except for the package theft).

Also glad to see you've decided to follow my advice and do the 9th company. You will have the coolest army when you're done.

I've been sidetracked by doing Khorne berserker army by May 31st. big APOC game.

Also, moving at end of April has put the Ultras on hold.

I've been playing Ultras pretty much exclusively for 10 years (3 year gap due to card flopping).

Really need to allocate my time to get projects going.
