Currently I play a pure sisters army and really enjoy it. Infact I have pretty much only ever played SoB and have never had a complaint however I have been reading alot of BL stuff and really am intrigued by the whole Inquisition and Inquisitorial powers. So instead of taking on a new army I wanted to take Witch Hunters in a different direction namely, No Ladies allowed. That's right a no-Sister Witch Hunter army. On top of that though I really didn;t want it to be guard based instead I wanted to take advantage of the Chapter Approved Deathwatch and make a sort of bug hunter theme, Having read about Inquisitors rooting out 'stealers cults I thought it would be cool to have a themed army with an Inquisitor attempting to defend a planet with a Deathwatch Kill-Team and the local PDF against the bugs. This is so far it is mostly hypothetical and while I have some of the models I wanted to get some more opinions before I set out with buying the force thus hasn't been play tested. Anyway so here it goes...

HQ- 599pts

Inquisitor Lord (bionics, master-crafted bolter-plasma gun, psycannon bolts)
Chirugen(x2)
Sage(x2)
Acolyte(x3...carapace armor, storm bolter)
Gun-Servitors(x3...plasma cannon, heavy bolter, heavy bolter)
Total: 303 pts

Deathwing Kill-Team (x6...veteran w/dual lightning claws, 2 heavy bolters, Librarian(Iron Halo, Might of Heroes))
Total: 320pts

Elite- 264 pts

Inquisitor (Force Weapon, Plasma Pistol, Bionics, Mounted in Rhino)
Acolyte(x3.....mancatchers, power armor)
Warriors(x3...Crusaders)
Total: 264 pts

Troops- 560pts

Inquisitorial Storm Troopers
(x10...veteran w/power weapon, plasma gun, grenade launcher) - 140 pts

Inquisitorial Storm Troopers (x10...veteran w/power weapon, plasma gun, grenade launcher) - 140 pts

Inquisitorial Storm Troopers
(x10...veteran w/power weapon, plasma gun, grenade launcher) - 140 pts

Inquisitorial Storm Troopers
(x10...veteran w/power weapon, plasma gun, grenade launcher) - 140 pts

Heavy Support- 300pts

Exorcist (extra armor, pintle mounted storm-bolter) - 150pts

Exorcist (extra armor, pintle mounted storm-bolter) - 150pts

Total: 1723

Anyway I would like it to be somewhat competitive but I am stressing the fluff side of it much more. And I know i have 30ish points to make up if you have suggestions. However I am totally open to any criticism and am willing to change it around. Basically I just wanna have some fun with it.

While the lame-ass designer coughed up the goods on Exorcists, those really are Sisters running those tanks.

They aren't crewed by stormtroopers.

If you really think IG aren't good for you and you've got to have stormtroopers...why don't you run it as a deathwatch army?

i know but there is actually no requirement for sisters in the army like an immolator nor do they apply the adeptas sororitas rule that would preclude me from taking marines. i have read over the codex a couple times and couldn't find it at all. I'm just gonna take this as a loophole that I can exploit unless somebody can find where it says i can't do thata

So just some ideas here on things you could run:

Inquisitor Lord w/Retinue.
Deathwatch Kill Team.
Adeptus Arbites Squads (you know, the Imperiums version of Judge Dredd).
Zealots. Call them whatever you want, religious help or angry citizens or conscripts.

You can easily have a couple of shooty units on the board with some crazy nutters running ahead of their police tenders with the above.

You can run a supplmental force of deathwatch, designed around:

Tactical squads in drop pods, and dreads in drop pods.

Toss in some cheap marine biker squads for tank-busting (116 or so for 3 bikers with 2 meltaguns) and call them the marine scout patrol or some such...

Add it all together, and people won't know what the hell they're facing. If you keep the SW equipment to flamers and meltaguns, you'll still be fluffy for sisters and fluffy for deathwatch.

You can always just go directly to a normal marine army list and add the DW as an option to it, but then you'd have to bring a elite inquisitor.

All in all, it has alot of possibilities whichever way you want to do it and most people will not be sure what to do with it.

Just something to keep in mind, DW and Zealots are illegal currently in the GT tourneys. Hopefully someone will change that.
