Guess I should go ahead and do this...

Heroquest is actually what got me into this hobby, back in.... 1990? Inside was a GW brochure advertising Warhammer and 40K. Though I couldn't find any of the models, and didn't really know where to look. It wasn't until several years later I happened upon an issue of White Dwarf in a local bookstore. It was in 150's.... maybe 152? Fast forward another couple of years, and I find that Eric Fuch's (remember them?!) carried a select few Warhammer models. Picking up a few, I tried my hand at painting them. I even went back and painted those old Heroquest figures too. Soon enough I found a store in Nashua, NH (I live in the Portsmouth, NH area) where I was able to pick up my own copy of Warhammer 40,000! After dragging a couple friends into the hobby, I made other friends at a local comic shop (Comic Adventures). Fortunately, the owner was supportive of the hobby and soon began carrying the product. I, on the other hand, undertook the task of organizing various tournaments, events, and Necromunda games in an effort to promote the product. A couple of other stores also began to carry the product and I began running demos at another local store. After a while, running the events took it's toll on me and I found Dakka in Manchester. There I could participate in all the games without the added pressure of organizing the events. Anyways.... other events took place, and I ended up falling out of the hobby for a while. For some reason I still picked up White Dwarf though, just to keep my nose in the business.

Then the Baneblade came out... Having collected an IG army for a while, and always having tanks play a prominent role in my Space Marine army as well, I HAD to have this!!! So, with that, I've become inspired to finish up some previously uncompleted models, and hopefully get in a few games as well. Though I need to update my rulebooks before I do this. Hopefully I'll be posting some pics soon of my armies, I know my Darkhounds were previously posted on an older version of the Dakka site.

As having only really mentioned 40K, I feel I should also mention I collect Bretonnians, Empire, and Dwarfs in addition to my Marines and IG's. For my Marines, I have my own Darkhounds, as well as the beginnings of both a Space Wolves and Deathwing force. Hope to see some of you on the battlefield!!

Welcome to Dakka! I'd love to see some pictures of your minis.

You should definitely make an 'army profile' page for your darkhounds (if you have any questions on how to do that, feel free to PM me).

Also, that's a nice little history introduction you have for yourself, you should consider adding that to your expanded profile page (the wiki page each user has dedicated to them). That way, when this post gets pushed down the intro forum people will always be able to read a little bit about you.

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!
