Yes. I can't get cheaper mobile rokkits in without bringing the buggies forward, which I don't want to do.

Put um on there worth there points not only can you tank shock witch allways gets a WTF from your opponent you can reroll fialed terian tests a life saver the way I run my trucks. ( the fastest way to any point is a striaght line)

That is a pretty good army. My LVGT army would be hard pressed to beat it.

40k is turning a bit more into rock-paper-scissors. Necrons beat Orks, Orks beat Eldar, Eldar beat Godzilla, Godzilla beats Necrons.

i have found that one of the best tank hunters in the game is a truck with a ram and a recking ball (mostly the wrecking ball) if you are running KOS and you have 60 points left over putting them into wrecking balls are a very good investment. on turn 2 and 3 the trucks are usually close enough to the tanks and vehicles that the enemy has that you can take them out.
the rams are just plain fun. tank shocking troops off the board or into the arms of your warboss is one of the most satisfying feelings. the look on your opponents faces is always priceless as the realize that a fast vehicle can tank shock
but for your list and how you are gonna run it i would leave the vehicle upgrades behind (except for the red paint job!)

I agree it is.

I've actually tuned the army so I can fit runts or rams (or a mix of both) in.

It's a tight fit, but I'll make it all then test it some more and see what happens.

I'm leaning towards having runts since they're useful against everyone and the tank shock is limited to certain armies (and people who setup in congo lines! lol).

1) I figure your Trukk mobs are 10 men just because you're so tight on points but you do know you can take up to 12 Orks in a Trukk in the new Ork codex, right?


2) With Ork Ld the way it is, I would personally take the Lootas @ 2x15 instead of 3x10, because with 10 men units once you're taking a morale check you're already at 7 men and making your Ld at test at 7.


3) Without taking any Powerklaws in your army you're going to be very vulnerable to something like a flying Tyrant with a 2+ save. I know you believe in forcing people to roll so many dice that they eventually fail some saves, but I really believe that flying tyrant with x2 TL Devourers could almost single-handedly walk through a good portion of your army unless the SAGs both hit home in the first turn and the Tyranid player gets really unlucky on his armor saves from the rest of your shooting.

Come to think of it, I think a Godzilla list where the Gunfexes and Tyrants have been given a 2+ save will be a really hard matchup for you to win. . . but your mobility may allow you to save the day if the mission requires objective grabbing.


Overall, I definitely like it I just think that not taking any Powerklaws gives you a dangerous achillies heel against Godzillas with 2+ saves.

Maybe pull a few points out and buy a couple Klaw Nobs for a couple of your Trukkboy mobs?

I don't mind taking those LD tests. The way I see it, lootas won't be the priority target or in range for most armies right away.

Hmmm. I wouldn't fire my SAGs at a flyrant unless that's all I could see.

2+ does seem like it's an issue.

Granted, I only killed 20 terminators in a turn with this army during playtesting and fexes are much harder to wound in comparison but the way I see it is...Orks have problems with 2+ saves and AV14.

I could grab nobs, I just don't know if I really want to.

I'm not sure if 2 PK nobs would bring enough to the table. It is something to think about.

Nice Stelek. You asked for opinions about rams. I think rams are totally underpriced. the tank shocking is ok, I've used it a few times... but why the ram is totally almost mandatory for me is the reroll to dangerous terrain. Unlike the crappy human difficult terrain mod, you can move any distance and get the re-roll. In my biker horde army, I use my 4 trukks in two pairs, and they are the "get the people in terrain" units. I can line up my 24 bikes out in the open, and have the trukkers lined up so that they'll be powering through terrain. I just couldn't do that without the rams.

However, your list is different than mine. My trukks are my CC units and my bikes are my shooty units. Since your trukks are your shooters, it might not be so important to go through terrain. My suggestion would be to at least buy them on one pair of trukks. They can then plan a path of advance that crosses terrain, the others could stay to the streets.

You didn't ask about wreckers, they give you the strength 9 that you really want, but are too pricey to put on all of your trukks. I've tried 2 wreckers in a trukk list. They seemed ok in my games (haven't penetrated anything yet), but I don't think they are the solution for leman russes. Have you done any testing with them?

I've tried rams and I've tried wreckers. I've seen both do really amazing things. My primary concerns are:

Rams. Situational, especially for me as I have shooty units onboard. It doesn't seem likely I'll be running these trukks within range to be able to tank shock and survive in the enemy backfield. I can totally see them working wonders against gunline armies, especially if I can get enough units in to keep shocking every turn. I guess the best use I can see for them is to push rhinos around with, but that will probably only be useful in 5th edition when more rhinos will be around.

Wreckers seem more suited to a assault oriented Ork army, designed solely to push forward and the wrecking balls get you S9 shots that hit skimmers on BS3 instead of BS2. I don't think I need them in 4th edition.

All that said...back to rams for a moment:

I can see rams being quite the fancy when you can ram enemies again. AV12 makes for a nice punch, and since it auto hits...

I'd be more worried about things like land raiders in 5th, but I think in the end I'll be using the meks to fire at those. Being ordnance means if I roll high (9 or 10) with 2 dice I should be able to splat them fairly well.

However if all else fails, I can suicide my Trukks into Land Raiders. S10 is the max with a ram (8 if the new 'flat out' speed remains the same). I'll take a high strength hit as well, but it seems worth it. There are other rules in discussion currently that make these rules more or less viable, depending which make the cut.

That's where I'm planning to go with my vehicles. I think running 6 trukks around tank shocking will be good, and top it off with ramming enemy vehicles is just too bloody fun and highly amusing not to give it a try.

This may just be squeezing blood from a stone, but you could make the loota squads 9 man instead of 10 to free up some points for elsewhere. I don't know if the 10 LD is really that important (you go from a 1/12 failure to a 1/6 failure) and you end up needing the same amount of casualties to force a test (3) and test on the same LD 7 after those casualties.

I could. Not sure what I'll do in the end, first I need to build the army then test it. I'll worry about a few upgrades here or there after.

Hell, those damn rokkits on the boyz squads are liabilities in 5th edition anyway. So ya never know.
