So I'm going to start painting up my WM stuff and I need some new paints for the primary colors I plan on using.

I've normally only used GW paints, and I've recently used their Foundation paints and to be honest I love em. They're just way better than the normal citadel paints from my experience.

But going on the fact that GW stuff is normally way more expensive than it should be, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the other brands of paint (Vallejo and P3) are in comparison to the Foundation Paints, since they seem to give you more per bottle for the same cost as the Foundation stuff.

I'd appreciate any info you guys can give. Thanks!

P3s are fantastic, and a nice range of colour, but do not cover nearly as well as the foundations.
Vallejo GC are inferior to P3 and Citadel paints, but everyone oooohhhs and aaaahhhhhs because of the eyedropper bottles. Very inconsistent colours, and poor coverage (and metallics are garbage).
I'm not guessing this, I bought their "mega" paint set due to all the rave reviews, and gave it away because of the poor paints.

the foundation paints are nice as base coats, due to the good coverage, but i find i still need to use the same amount of layers as i do with my p3's...i don't think that there is a single line of paints that can be used to the exclusion of all others...
i use about half gw, and half p3...there are some colours in the gw range that aren't in the p3 range, and vise versa...
the only thing i use from vallejo is the glaze medium and the smoke..

cheers

I like the foundation paints a lot. I used to use strictly vallejo. I still do for certain colors. For others, i use citadel.
