Omnipotent Lord of Change

I like The Hammer and we've now gotten a taste of the WD mortals changes. Here's my initial list combining the two.
L: Harry the Hammer
H: Exalted Champion - book of secrets, gw, shield
H: Sorcerer - MoS, lvl 2, chaos steed, power stone, scroll
H: Sorcerer - lvl 2, chaos steed, power stone, scroll
C: 19 Chosen Warriors - shield, full command
C: 5 Marauder Horsemen - flails, musician
C: 5 Marauder Horsemen - flails, musician
S: 5 Knights - MoS, full command
S: Chariot
S: Chariot
R: 2 Spawn
Not sure how close that cuts it, but if needed I suppose we could call it a 2250 list . I'd likely give the spawn MoN if possible, as rumors suggest they may get the demonic loci from the demons book - MoS = ASF, MoN = regen, etc.
Look competitive at all? Recall that Harry makes the unit he's in unbreakable. The XC - or should he be AC? - I'm less set on but wanted another hitty character. He's got the book for steed of shadows and more magic, and the gw for chariot busting S7. Thought about flail + steed but dunno.

What I'd really like to know is how can one incorporate some flying demons to the wd army (if that's even possible), I'd feel kinda naked without them. About the topic, the list seems to lack fodder units. It shouldn't be a big problem to get couple units of additional warhounds at least.

The chosen could become normal warriors and free up almost 60 points for dogs.
Yes, feeling the lack of flyers as well. Interested to see how that shakes out. New spawn upgrades could be promising, but the 3D6" fiend will be missed

Boss where did you see a preview of the new mortals rules? I would love to take a peek at that. Obviously knights are moving to special (makes sense) but what have they done (if anything) to make the mountains of warriors that I currently have (and don't use) worth taking?
As for the list, it does seem a little low on the model count and lack of flyers makes war machine hunting more difficult seems that the AC would make a more cost effective missile but play testing should tell

Papa, I've only read the brief rumors of the WD article to hit soonish. The parts that matter for what I'm scheming is:
- warriors cheaper (1)
- knights, chariots special
- chariots cheaper (20)
- no beasts or demons / very limited beasts or demons
- spawn marks are more inline with the demonic loci that heralds grant their units in the demon book (nurgle = regen, slaanesh = ASF, khorne = hatred, tizz = ward?)
I also busted out my book at last and ran the list with some points, and got this:
L: Harry the Hammer = 365
H: Exalted Champion - book of secrets, great weapon = 144
H: Sorcerer - level 2, chaos steed, scroll = 161
H: Sorcerer - level 2, chaos steed, scroll = 161
C: 19 Warriors - shields, full command = 277
C: 20 Marauders - flails, standard, musician = 135
C: 5 Marauder Horsemen - flails, musician = 81
C: 5 Marauder Horsemen - flails, musician = 81
C: 5 Warhounds = 30
C: 5 Warhounds = 30
S: 5 Knights - full command = 215
S: Chariot = 100
S: Chariot = 100
R: 2 Spawn = 120
2000 exactly. I really like this list already, but of course will have to see how the points get juggled with the updated mortals rules.

Really, no beast or daemons? I like the ability to mix the various units together. Cheaper chariots are good and definitely cheaper warriors but I'm not sure that a 1 pt per model drop is enough to make them viable.
how do the marauder horse with flails work for you? I usually use shield/spear (cause thats how their modeled) and I find they get the job done and a little more survivable, just wondering if its worth the points (oopps!, just checked shield/spear is 1 pt more heh)
I like your list, lots of units to make your opponent think carefully about what they want to engage and enough magic and magic defense to compete in every phase but the shooting

Here's another take, more magic heavy though I suppose less killy?
HORDE OF HARRY 2000
L: Harry the Hammer
H: Sorcerer - power familiar, level 2, barded steed
H: Sorcerer - dispel scroll, spell familiar, level 2, barded steed
H: Sorcerer - dispel scroll, level 2, barded steed
C: 19 Chaos Warriors - shields, full command w/ blasted standard
C: 5 Marauder Horsemen - shields, musician
C: 5 Marauder Horsemen - shields, musician
C: 5 Marauder Horsemen - shields, musician
C: 5 Warhounds
C: 5 Warhounds
S: Chariot of Chaos
S: Chariot of Chaos
R: 2 Spawn = 120
R: 2 Spawn = 120
Should be close to 2000 in the new points, whatever they turn out to be. Personally I like a lot about this list, though still mostly Harry + friends and then all this crap scrambling around shooting / supporting / charioting around
And no, I'm not really a fan of chaos knights, go fig.

I like the idea more the execution, I guess. In game I tend to fluff my to hit rolls, and with max of 5 attaks that's like 2-3 hits on average, then maybe 1-2 wounds in the end. Considering that I intend to use them as escorts for the mages and not dedicated war machine hunters, I think the shield's extra +1 AS is more useful. I'd probably do spears too if I could find the points, because of modeling ease again.

Ever thought of making Harry's unit larger? Me and a friend were talking about making a group of 40 or so warriors.

"But remember that there are over 1000 chapters of spase marienz! So the SM codex has to cover over 1000 different kinds of spase marienz! Codex CSM only has to cover 1 kind (the Chaos kind). And I don't even think Eldar are a kind of spase marienz at all. Hurr!"
