here's the 2 big guys from the magnus agenda battlegroup...
the customer wanted me to do the scheme from superiority, but with a few twists...the freehand logo was the main addition...
he wanted a well-maintained look, but with dirty feet and smokestacks to show that they are fightin'...

I knew I should have bought that Mule I saw in a sale.

Extremely nice. Very tidy free-hand too. The highlights on the edges of the armour plates are starker than PP's examples, and I like it.

The freehand is a bit to dark to be recognized properly. The rest is masterclass as always.

I agree. Until it was pointed out I thought that the emblem was a rust spot, a cool looking rust-spot, but you might wish to make the emblem pop a lil more with a lighter outline or something. Either way more contrast.

Maybe that's just a lighting issue with it being on a
dark smokestack that's in the background and contrasting
with a bright blue?

Awesome work. While the freehand and highlights look incredible, I really dig the metals. Very smooth.

i definitely need to continue tryin' to improve my photography...i just don't have enough interest in it to take the necessary time...i got way too spoiled from the days of sendin' my minis off to the studios that commission the work, and gettin' nice pics sent to me...

the freehand thing is partly my fault with photography, and partly tryin' to keep it simple for the customer...
i gave the guy a discount, so he got 75% of the effort for 75% of my normal price...he's happy, and i got paid, so i'm happy...
had these guys been for me, the freehand would have had a fine black outline to make it pop...
i also would have used a bit of bronze here and there with the metals, instead of only silver, just for a bit of contrast...
the guy wanted blue and silver, so he got blue and silver...

i'm workin' on an epic magnus for myself in my spare time, so i can do the scheme the way i think it should be...it's pretty much the way that ali did him for superiority, but with a red cloak instead of blue to show his support for vinter and his skorne army...
it'll be nice to be able to paint something to a higher standard than i get time to for commissions...
