I'm looking at making an Investment in a WE army that runs like a 40k army would in terms of as little blocks of infantry as possible
and kicks ass. I'm looking at droping $300-$400 dollars on said army for a soild 1500-2000 pnt. list if you can help me It would be much appreciated.

Here's an army I've used to good success:

Lord

Level 4 Wizard with Staff of Tree Singing, 3 Scrolls

Heroes

Noble BSB

Core

10 Archers

10 Archers

5 Glade Riders (Fast Cav)

8 Dryads

8 Dryads

8 Dryads

Special

5 Wild Riders, Full Command

5 Wild Riders, Full Command

Rare

Treeman

Treeman

2000pts

The idea is, your archers hang back and pepper your opponent. Everything else skirmishes or is Fast Cav and so is hard to pin down. Your opponent can only really move towards the archers to get points, whereupon you start to encircle his army with your units. Treemen hide in the free forest near the middle, stranglerooting as units pass, then pop out to threaten Flanks and Rears. BSB keeps both from running. He and the level 4 hide right behind the Treemen.

If you opponent has lots of guns, your level 4 and two bound Tree singings can move forests up to block LOS, plus you have lots of cav to take out Warmachines, hit gunners in the Flank, etc. Your opponent will need 8 dispel dice to match your irresistable tree singing.

The key thing about this army is that you have to be patient. You will not be doing much damage until turn 3 or 4. The first few turns are all about setting up combined charges, isolating enemy units with woods, and doing light damage here and there with shootng/stranglerooting. Hope that helps!

The army I mentioned needs magic to move trees. So in your 1500pt list I would dump the characters and take 2 level 2s if possible. Make sure one has the staff of Tree singing. Otherwise looks good. If you can't fit them both in, drop a unit of archers - at the end of the day it's your fighting units that will win you games.

so close....I desided that in the end to drop the command on my Wildriders and keep the archers for some shooty at least...please critique as 350+ dollars on an army is pricey... I'm not rich and I don't wan't an army that won't work.

Good army list, but I can see you struggling against Horde armies and anyone who can use attrition to wittle down your numbers. Even in 1500 don't skimp on Scrolls because every man and his dog plays VC these days, so closing down their magic will help your units a lot.
