Hey, Just got my siege of vraks book and am drawn mercilessly towards the renegades. I was planning on having about 100-150 workers for troops along with some reg dudes. Now I just need to model them somehow. Please help! any ideas or input is appreciated!
Thanks,

That's a problem I'm facing myself with my genestealer cult plan.

I just did skave plague monks with gas mask heads from Pig Iron and they look suitably culty/mutanty.

One idea is Catachans painted to look like factory workers. Blue jeans for pants, blue or orange jackets, maybe with a company logo on them.

WWII helmet heads could be painted as hard hats. Plastic rod painted as pipes for h2h weapons.

Another idea, a bit cheaper, is LotR humans, since they're smaller than most 40k figures (emphasizing that they're civilians) and cheaper, $25 for 20 or 25. I had a thread on that idea down a bit on this page.

If you want to stick to GW models, the Necromunda range has loads of options. Otherwise the human models from GorkaMorka, if you can track them down somewhere.

It should be pretty easy to model some shovels and pick axes on their plague sensor thingies.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Brettonian infantry works pretty well for the "unwashed masses"

Many a Sentinel pilot has hesitated to call his vehicle a walking coffin after battling beside a Dreadnought.

yeah men at arms work really good. archers not so much because it's hard to get them to look like they're doing anything but drawing a bowstring.

There are also Mordheim human plastics you could mix in.
Personally, I like the Catachans idea.

If no one has mentioned it yet, empire fagellents would be excellent for rabble.

Man, that's the joy of Anime! To revel in the complete and utter wastefullness of making an unstoppable nuclear-powered combat andriod in the shape of a cute little girl, who has the ability to fall in love and wears an enormous bow in her hair.
