Hey all,

I'm fairly new to the idea of making custom models, tanks and the like.... I have checked out a number of the P&M posts and the faq/tips section, but I am still confused about plasticard I have seen some of the amazing work done with it (reaver titans, rhinos, etc..) but I'm confused as to where to buy plasticard, what size is best etc...

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Much help is appriciated

Evergreen and plastruct are the major suppliers I can think of right now. Im pretty sure they have web-sites so you can go check out the materials. Most decent train shops supply it in great variety, and quantity. for most things like Russ/chimera sized I find that 1mm is pretty good.
Hoped that helped.

I get mine from Hobby Haven in Des Moines, which probably doesn't help you much, but as he said, Evergreen and Plastruct, and you can probably find em online.

As far as what size, that's really entirely dependent upon what you're building, and personal preference.

If you're going to scratchbuild, you want an assortment of thicknesses. You will also want some textured stuff, tube, bar, i-beam, etc. etc.

As far as thickness goes, the thicker the stuff is, the harder it is to cut, but the more rigid it will be. .020 inches is pretty thin, very easy to cut. .060 is very thick, will take some work to cut through, but will be about right for heavy structural components in tanks and such.
