here are two pictures of what my basic colour scheme is (the only thing wrong with these is that only the top of the hand is supposed to be green)

==Army List==

i am creating an apocalypse army for space marines. they will be something like the Black templar, but better and less "kill everything in front of me" like. they will (fluff-wise) be more like the Pre-Heresy Emperor's Children where they calculate the best possible decisions to win. they are pretty decked out with extra (not really necessary but still useful) wargear which has the drawback of being costly in points. im thinking of going back and redoing some of the vehicles and the command squad. but watev.

==Why I Started This Army==

I, at first, was playing WH40k: dawn of war. i played with the space marines because they are easy to control, and they are all basically elite units. as soon as i beat WH40k: DOW and WH40k: DOWWA, i had to go on a trip to lake shasta. so i went to the bookstore to find a new book for the 5 hr trip down and back up. to my surprise, i found the ulramarines omnibus, and the first two commisar cain novels (all great books). at the end of every black library book, there is a page dedicated to the tabletop game. i then had my parents get me $700 worth of stuff. that was two years ago and now i've spent around $3000 from my parent's pocket and my own.

while all that sounds great, I am having trouble with an original name for my space marine chapter. they are currently called The Dark Templar.
i have recently found a web site that has Dark Templar pasted all over it, so that wont do. now i need a new name for my chapter. .
i would like to keep the templar part of my name, but if you can convince me, more power to you. any advice is helpful. to e-mail

Cast out the mutant, the traitor, the heretic! For every enemy without there are a hundred within. Beware their secret clans and hidden ways. The only cult we do not abhor is that of the Emperor!

Green Knights, as mentioned before, is a solid good name. Or the Green Tide..cough..you just need to field more Infantry then and use Black Templar rules.

i have really been thinking about that name.. and this next birthday will be mostly consisting of presents chock-full of infantry with at the most 1 or 2 rhinos.

the only thing that i dont really like that much is the knights part. i just feel that it is used too much. but if it comes down to it, i will probably use it. thx. now all i need is some specific changes (if any) to my army list

Great color scheme! And I like the fluff so far. Check out these links for more inspiration:
Void Reapers
Star Foxes
Fighting Tigers of Veda
Scythes of the Emperor

That last one is a GW chapter, but I think you'll see the guy did a great job of making them his own.

My suggestions for a name:

Viridian Conquerors.
Emerald Drakes.
Dragons of Sigismund.
Dark Aurora.
The Purge (before their turn to Chaos).
Heralds of Vengeance.
Sons of Dorn.
Dragons of the Night Sky.
Rift Wardens.

You could do well with a 'before they turned' idea like the Purge. It would give you use reason to model your force slightly more chaotic while still using the SM Codex.

ya. i like the whole renegade idea, but i was thinking about it being like the soul drinkers. they still are loyal to the emeror, but not a part of the imperium. it kindof gives you that special "do whatever you want" feel. as soon as photobucket stops hating me, i will have pictures of my army (conversions too) and the chapter symbol
