Due to objective nature of 5th, the Troop infantry squads are meant to be mobile w/ Gaunt moving with them to provide leadership. I know it goes against traditional Guard doctrine, but would this actually be better as an Honorifica on the Command Officer with a *gasp* Vox Network?

So I have about 300 points to fill in and I was thinking about either 2 Hellhounds or Cameleoline the entire army + Sharpshooters on the Lascannon squads (maybe even light infantry). I guess those are my two options right now. I'm not planning on counter assault elements as I'm hoping the "no consolidating into unengaged units" will enable me to shoot any assault units that make my lines.

Maybe when voxes become as free as Leadership Radii are, then yes. In the meantime, just keep an officer with the units that are moving up, and you get the same effect, for free.

Good point, I'll skip on the Vox network.

What are your opinions of excluding counter-assault elements in 5th? I mean to me, the Plasma Gun is now the Imperial Guard Power Fist. Should I field two groups of six Rough Riders?

For my army list specifically, I'm liking Cameleoline to help the Anti-Tank squads survive longer, that or just add a 5th Anti-Tank squad in the Heavy Weapons Platoon.
