Wasn't there a wh40k scam that was circling a few years ago, with some guy sending out emails to 40k players trying to spoof them? I seem to vaguely remember something about this person advertising a 40k MMORPG or some such. Well, he's at it again. I just got an unsolicited email from someone wanting me to run some kind of RPG through Yahoo groups. "Hollow World" ringing any bells? Says he "came across my address online", which sounds like porno spam to me.

Anyway, if this is something legitimate, I apologize to whomever I've offended, but this just STINKS of some kind of spoof/phishing attempt. The link he gave me is:

I just checked it out, there IS such a group on yahoo, navigating to it from the Groups frontpage. Anybody mess with this in the past? Anyone know anything about it?

Ya it doesn't look too legit. I checked out the Tau section and he got some pretty basic stuff wrong. Like calling the leader O'Shas instead of Shas'O and that's not even a proper Tau name it's just a part of a title. Also he made up a couple races that don't exist in 40k. I wouldn't give them any information.
