'Tis time for nostalgia. What I'm doing is rebasing, and repainting my old heroquest minis, and will eventually build them a new, nice board and nicer terrain bits. This is intended as a fun thing to relax me inbetween painting the three armies I have going at the moment. First model to be redone is one of the zombies, first, original paintjob *ach me eyes*
Now, new, improved paintjob (also semi-test model for my VC zombies. Although they will be grimeyer)
The pictures aren't fantastic, and the grimey white hair didn't go quite as well as I might have wanted, but overall I'm very happy with how he turned out.
Hope you like,
Aquila

Looks great, especially the base. This project should keep you entertained. Let's see the Gargoyle next!

And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity...... |

that's a great job. My own Heroquest minis are cowering in their ashamed lack of painting-ness. Consider myself envious of the basing.

Thanks, some people have cried out "but the zombie looks too, healthy!" so I tweaked him a bit. I also painted a mummie (sp?) Really annoying thing is that I can't find all the minis (the rest of the zombies and mummies and the heroes). So, hope you all like them. I'm rather pleased with the OSL myself

*Childish chuckle* Aww man, this brings back memories. Its making me want to visit my parents just to retrieve my old Hero Quest game. Love the mummy, its amazing how much a decent paint job can make crummy models look good again.

I have a unit of ogres initially for my Empire army that is from the Ogre expansion. Those ogres look great, I still prefer them to the current ones, they have their own cockeyed charm.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. |

Nice painting!
Thanks, I'll be looking into the expansions once this is finished.

Awww, the mummy wasn't/isn't a crummy model, but thanks.

Ooh, got pictures, not seen them before?

Thanks, neither can I, lol
So, for my main (and only) attraction tonight, a repainted gobbo;
From this (shield your eyes!);
To this (unshield eyes);
Hate, hate, hate, hate painting tiny little checks though. The new washes were used quite extensively on him, and worked very well I think. I tried to make him look a bit "retro" Red period even, but not excessively.
Comments welcome,
Aquila
