In another moment of playing around on Army Builder, I decided to try to maximize dragon choices in a HE list and this is what I came up with. Let me know your thoughts. Still has some wiggle room on points. I'm not sure whether or not this list can be viable.

three dragons? they better kill alot of junk cause your gona be vastly outnumbered.

Actually I've been thinking about doing something similiar, but just because I LOVE the HE dragonlord kit. I'm trying to resist temptation of starting a new army(and system for that matter, I'm a WHFB virgin) but those dragons may get me.

If not competitive( and I wouldnt know) it looks like a fun army at least.

If you wanted to do a themed force of Caledor/Dragons, I think you’d want to swap out those RBTs (and possibly the chariots too) for more Dragon Princes. If you’re doing the crazy dragon theme, some people will dig on it, but most of those folks won’t be too psyched about the immobile artillery component in a speedy themed army.

It’s kind of an amusing concept, but it doesn’t really play Warhammer. Honestly, I’d probably play you once if you asked, then ask you to change the list to something that actually looked like an army.

Lots of dragons, yes.

Sadly, in 3k points you'll find yourself in one of two positions:

1) Facing better heroes on the same kind of mounts...which means, you lose.

2) Facing 15 blocks of troops against your 4 itty bitty units...which means, you lose.

It's spread out all over the place as far as magic, shooting, CC, and fast movers goes.

Try and focus on just the knights + dragons, then you might stand a chance although honestly most heroes will wtfpwn your mages in CC. That's "bad". So will magic and shooting...that's "horrible". lol

Yeah, its a totally eclectic army. I just wanted to see if it would be viable at all. I just finished rereading an old Dragonlance novel and just wanted to see if I could put some kind of crazy army together that has all the different fantasy elements I dig (monsters, magic, wacky warmachines, etc.). I'm gonna stick with a more conventional build once I start assembling stuff stateside.

Drop the 2 chariots and the Dragon Prince upgrades to upgrade one of the Dragon Mages to a Lord on a Star Dragon. This will give you some punching in the face power as well as still having 3 dragons. With the extra points I would suggest either another RBT or even better 2 more eagles. You'll want the eagles so you can charge units and run down units after they have fled from the dragon's terror.
