ive been working on this list for a few weeks now. ive not played WHFB for over 3 years and wanted a good all round army which is solid against almost any foe.

to start with i have to have a lord on shieldbearers, this model is my absolute favourite dwarf sculpt. kit him out cheaply but he still packs a whollop with 4 S6 attacks and 2 S4 attacks with a 1+ save. he'll lead my hammerer unit. this unit will be rock hard being immune to fear/terror and being stubborn. ive given them shields so i can alternate between GW's and HW+Shield.
next must have is a BSB thane with a nice 1+save to keep him alive. him and the "scroll caddy" runesmith will be in the ironbreakers unit who are also immune to fear/terror. next up a nice cheap thane to lead a unit of warriors, i originally had these guys as longbeards but i needed to find points for some runes. either way they are a hard unit to crack and so close to the lord and BSB they arnt likely to run without serious casualties.

fire support next, 2 units of 10 quarrellers will do. nice and cheap with good range. i'd have liked one unit to be a thunderer unit but i find the range better and the unit is 30pts more expensive. ive given them shields so they have a good chance to survive combat and use them to possibly guard the wings of my infantry units.

now the reason why i love dwarfs - guns
got to take a cannon and organ gun so in they go. next a pair of bolt throwers one tricked out with the rune of chariot smashing. finally ive taken a gyrocopter to harass and warmachine hunt and most importantly to stop march moves to maximise the time i get to shoot the hell out of the enemy.

any thoughts?

Looks decent overall. I've been using quarrellers lately instead of thunderers as well, but I find that they just don't hit enough stuff at long range to care about have the extra 6". I'm re considering dropping them and putting back in the thunderers since they hit a lot more in a game even with the shorter range due to the +1 to hit from the guns. Let me know how they work for you though. Maybe I am just not utilizing them effectively.
