A thought ocurred to me today, regarding the firewarriors of the Tau Empire, and how they are so inflexible, so I cam with a solution to make them more tactically flexible, and still be true to what has been published by GW and FW, so here it goes:

Give the Tau their heavy drones, from FW, as seen on IA Vol 3 the Taros Campaign, and allow them to be attached to firewarriors, as if they where drones.

THis would probably be at 15 pts for the drones, + the price of the weapons from the battlesuit list. For example:

10 firewarriors(10 pts each)+ 2 Heavy Drones (15 pts each)+ twin linked burst cannons for Heavy drones (18 pts for each pair).

Total = 166 pts

For blancing purposes, no more than two heavy drone are allowed pero squad, and they dont have access to the plasma rifles, or the missile pods.

So what do you think

"None can stand before the Greater Good" Shas'O Kais

"To follow any path other than the Tau'va is to doom us all. Only together and with courage and discipline shall we stand victorious. Fight with fire and courage and nothing can stand against us." Commander Shadowsun

"The strength of your force may be calculated by multiplying its weight by its velocity. Strive always to maximize both and victory shall be yours." Commander Puretide

germany,bavaria

two heavy weapon sets to add to firewarriors is not what GW designed,because they wanted the weapon sets on the suits.
This fits to the anime-style design and the difference between Tau and others like IG.
I understand what you pledge for,but think its no chance to get.

Ditto, the Tau units are about as flexible as an Inquisitor's fanaticism, the only exception being the Crisis Suits. They aren't as specialized as the Eldar but they still have a definate "this does this, that does that" mentality. If you want flexability than play Space Marines.
