I just bought a bunch of Sisters from somebody, and while I'll still need to buy more, I'm making a list now so that I know what to get. I've not played Sisters before, so I'm looking for input. I suppose this goes without saying now, but this list is for 5 ed.

HQ

Canoness
bolter-plasma gun, blessed weapon, book of St. Lucius, cloak of St. Aspira, litanies of faith, mantle of Ophelia

Celestian Retinue (10)
simulacrum imperialis, sacred standard, multimelta, meltagun, VSS with eviscerator

ELITES

Celestians (5)
multimelta

Celestians (5)

TROOPS

Battle Sisters (16)
2x meltagun, VSS with book of St. Lucius

Battle Sisters (16)

Battle Sisters (16)

FAST ATTACK

Seraphim (8)
2x hand flamer, VSS with book of St. Lucius, eviscerator

Points: 1500
Models: 82
Faith: 10

Against a mobile assault list, I will likely stay back and shoot until the enemy is close enough for me to move up and rapid fire. Against a static gun-line, I will move (and run) everything forward on my first turn. On my second turn, I'll continue to push up with the battle sister and seraphim squads, while the celestians hang back and fire their multimeltas. The canoness and her retinue will start with the latter group, so that it can fire its multimelta and the small celestian squads can benefit from the canoness's book, but later it will move up to help a battle sister unit that's trapped in an assault or to shoot something the other sisters couldn't take down.

I have thought about dropping some battle sisters to get a heavy bolter retributor unit, but I hate to remove scoring models. Also, I want to keep the size of the battle sister units on the high side for the divine guidance.

I'm ill-acquainted with 5e (I'm still stuck in rumourland, basically, whereas everyone else has read the actual thing), so I don't have much to say, but I'm sorry to point out that that Canoness is illegal. The WH list does not allow you to take more than one two-handed weapon.

Also, the multimelta in the Celestian retinue doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Everything else the squad is good for requires moving forward.

Oops, I missed that bit about only one two-handed weapon. Here's a slightly revised list. I chose to give the canoness a plasma pistol, as I just hate to waste her BS5. I thought the plasma pistol a better option than the inferno pistol, as the unit will try to get within 12" (rapid fire range), but not necessarily 6". I also dropped the mantle of Ophelia, which I think it less valuable now that the canoness cannot be allocated against in close combat so long as she still has her retinue.

Would it be better to split up my 3 large battle sister units into 4 smaller units? On one hand, that would give an additional scoring unit, two more meltaguns, an additional faith point and some versatility. On the other hand, that would mean fewer models total (more points spent on upgrades) and less effective divine guidance. With large squads, I get more hits and can afford to take more casualties before I am at risk of failing the faith roll.

You really, really need some anti-tank with more reach. A bunch of Russes could give this list a really bad day. Try to add one or more of: Rhinos for melta girls, Exorcists, inducted guard with lascannons.
