What are you interested in playing? There may be an army out there that fits what you'd like to do.

A completely new army is doubtful unless it a mod of a current army, like a new Space Marine chapter. Otherwise you'd better hope your opponent is willing to go with whatever house rules you wanna use.

I play
Ke'lshan
Grey Knights
Space Wolves

hmm good idea, i was thinking something along the lines of space marines gone bad but without chaos. so should i just say its a heavy mod of CSM?

you can make up any army you want as long as you:

1) make the figures with mostly GW material or scratch built out of putty/bits
2) have a relatively coherent set of "counts as" rules, for example, someone on this board has an entire army made of sculpted samurai which he "counts as" eldar. So you can decipher which models "count as" each unit from the normal Codexs

Corpses, check out the space marines known as the Soul Drinkers. they might just be what you had in mind.

they have seen how corrupted the imperium had become and have turned away from it, but the still recognise the evil of chaos and fight for the emperor against everyone :þ

same thing happened to a friend of mine, put his heart and soul into this badass lizardmen 40k army (counts as eldar) but everyone at the local gaming shop thought converting a WHFB army into a 40k army was stupid :(

but anyway guys ive moved on from that idea, my current 3 are chaos orks, desert lizard nids and maybe a sensei army
