Grovelin' Grot Rigger

Hey guys, I recently started puting together my Speed Freeks army so I thought I would write a background story for the army and a few characters in it. Hope you guys enjoy it.

“Through the chaos of battle, a Dark Angels Land Raider grinds on. Its exhausts giving off musky fumes, Its engine giving off a low bestial growl, The machine spirit inside the beast guiding it and its cargo into the heart of the Orc Waaagh. The cameras on the Las Cannons’ mounts looking around steadily, checking for green danger, making sure to deliver it’s cargo safely. Suddenly the left camera jerks focusing on a mob of Tankbustas charging at the Land Raider and screaming in an unknown language to the adepts. The machine slows down and turns towards the Orks. It’s Autocannon starting to spin slowly to the rhythm of battle, faster, faster, until you cannot make out it’s features. Suddenly the Tank opens fire on the mob of Orks that’s getting ever so closer, threatening the engine with its magnetized plate looking, tank-disposing contraptions. Loud bursts glow and fade out of the barrel that’s continuously changing in it’s spin. Almost rhythmatic to the rage of the battle, “The song of death.” The bullet spewing tube manages to take out half the Orks. There is a glow in the tips of the Las Cannons, ever so feint, but picking up brightness, almost violently grasping it from reality. The massive guns release a bright beam of energy straight onto it’s green targets. It hits dead on in the middle of the mob, only seven Orks left now. The Land Raider fires up it’s engines and drives straight at the remaining greenskins which simply refuse to stop charging toward it with it’s Tankbusta bombs, the large Ork in the front holding a particularly large one, screaming so loud you can almost hear it through the midst of battle and past the roars of the oncoming tank. –“Waaagh!” The moment the scream is heard the oncoming metal beast hits dead on the Ork mob. A gush of blood splatters around all sides of the Land Raider. The sound of breaking bones and tearing flesh is heard underneath the beast. The tank finishes its massacre with a bunch or green and red shapes writhing behind it, leaving a trail of red when it passes. The Land Raider Drives on… past the screen of smoke produced by the gunfire, shells and burning bodies and other matter on the battlefield of the 41 millennium. Seconds later, the smoke shudders in it’s sleepless existence as the Land Raider explodes in the distance. One of the Orks that was being grinded by the tracks of the machine managed to slap a lone tankbusta bomb onto it. Succeeding in wrecking the righteous engine. The half breathing Nob shouts –“ Waaagh! Orks! Orks! Orks!” this chanting is heard for a few seconds after the explosion occurs, but then dies out just like the Land Raider. The Nob collapses on the floor breathless.
3 Days have passed after the Land Raider blew up. The battle has ended. Scavenging gretchin and Ork Lootas crawl around the battlefield scavenging from the dead, Marine, Chaos, and Ork alike. “Eeey! This one‘s still breathing!” - Screams a small grot poking the half dead nob on the floor missing several limbs with it’s brains exposed. The Nob jerks, grabs the grot by the head and growls not opening it’s eyes. The poor gretchin is screaming frantically trying to pry the huge hand off it’s head. The Ork clenches it’s teeth and closes his hand to a fist with the poor grot still trapped in his hand. Needless to say, the gretchin’s head explodes like a melon under such pressure. The Nob smiles in pleasure and drops back in the position it was lying in previously. Multiple gretchin run toward the greenskin being prodded by a Runtherder to take him away to the Doc’s Workshop. Hesitantly they pick what’s remaining of the Ork up and carry it away. A Week later in The Doc’s workshop the stitched half brain dead Ork lies on the operating bench waiting for the Mad Doc to come back to finish what he was doing to him… Gork knows what, don’t ask. A Rumbling is heard before a strange half mechanical figure enters the building. Instead of the doc that the prominent Ork was expecting, in came the Big Mek. The fat, half mechanical Ork with contraptions that look like telegraph poles on its back chuckles looking at the slowed mess in front of him and says –“Ha ha! Now. Time ta’ fix ya Gubbinz.” The Mek smiles and presses a button on his side that clicks, a sound of hinges working off each other is heard, suddenly a drawer full of tools opens, doubtedly they could be called tools. It was an array of rusty hammers, sticks, nails, knives and other unknown effigies. The Mek takes out something that remotely represents a wrench, eaten away by rust and with it’s paint flaking off. –“Now…” The Orc says.
Peculiar noises are heard in the Ork settlement through the night, as the Mek restlessly works on the Ork, “salvaged” from the battlefield earlier. The sound suddenly stops. Inside the tent, the half machine monstrosity is sitting idle. The mek rubs his chin and thinks. (I know… Orks can think, what?) He looks over his masterpiece and ponders, something is missing. The Orc raises a finger into the air and smiles wildly with a big toothy grin. –“Ahh!” The Greenskin opend the drawer once more and takes out a hammer roughly the size of a Powerclaw. He spits on his hands and greedily grabs the mallet in both his hands, He turns toward the… can’t really call that Nob an Ork anymore… it’s more the Size of a Killa Kan. The Mek eyes his creation’s deep green face up and down as he takes a hearty swing back with the mallet and Wham! Smashes the Orc in the face with it, a Single tooth falls out. –“Tough one aren’t ya! Well ‘t least now I can’t say ma’ work ‘s gune without da payment… not ‘nuff ‘coarse but that’ll have ta’ do!” The Mek picks up the tooth and puts it in his pocket securely. The Mek walks around the monstrosity and takes a lever and suddenly jerks on it, the engine revs and starts. The “Ork” comes to life. He lets out an Apocalyptic growl. The whole tent trembles. –“I’s be Trukk! I rule dize ‘ere boyz now! Waaagh!” self proclaimed Warlord growls once more and breaks the binds that hold him to the stand he was placed on. Trukk stumbles out of the rag covered building and smashes it’s crudely built frame on the way out. A horde of Ork Boyz has gathered outside. –“You nut jobz are ta’ listen ta me now, get it?! Or I’ll run y’all over! Aargh!” growled Trukk. Many have challenged him on that and many other days and none have succeeded yet, all have fell to the monstrosity that the Mek built them. Of coarse Trukk led these Orks to many of Victories, in fact gathered such a Waagh! That conquered Planets upon planets. Yet one day Trukk’s Weirdboyz told him that the energies of the Warp produced on the portals atop the planet Orion IV would supercharge his weapons and vehicles to such proportions that even the great Ghazghkull never even dreamed of. Trukk then headed his armada to a battle of cataclysmic proportions, to a lost planet that Neither the Imperium could cleanse nor the Tyranids could devour.”
