Hello everyone.
I couldn't really find somewhere more appropriate to put this topic in. Please do forgive me if it's somehow misplaced here.
We've just had the 16th EIRPG (international role playing game encounter) down here in Brazil. In it GW made its debut in "terras brasilis" on what can only be described as a huge success.
I've take the time to write a short review and add some photos to an article in my blog.
Please take the time to check it out http://paintingfrog.wordpress.com/2008/07/08/games-workshop-in-brazil/.
Cheers.

Lol... come down to bask in the heat guys. I'll trade with anyone above the equator line :p
But yes we now have a distributor down here. It isn't the same thing as having a GW store on your corner but hey, till a month ago I was buying stuff on the web because hobby supplies were NOWHERE to be found around here (ok... Vallejo popped up a while a go in a few select hoby stores but that was it).
I for one am excited about things to come.

I was in guyana for two years and made it down to Brazil once, good times. If I'd known there were games of 40k down there I would have stayed longer!
Just a question when you play or talk to GW staff is it in English or portugese.
I've noted that here in china and in japan it's sort of a corrupted English.

Interesting.. when I was in Greece a couple years ago on vacation, we were at a restaurant in Delphi, the waiter spoke broken english enough to take our order (I had the roast wild boar that still had buck shot in it, but that's another story) .. anyway, there was a tour group of kids all speaking french, but they placed their orders in English.
Guess when there's a language barrier folks just use the lowest common denominator
Back on topic, I won a trip to Rio at my company's xmas party. It was non transferable and I had to use it before June, but I wasn't able to go cuz I was in the middle of trying to sell my house :( if I knew I coulda got a game or 2 in I would have tried harder to go

Bom dia!
I'm glad to hear everything went well. Let us know when the first Brazilian GT is scheduled.

Of course they will! Google the words "Caipririnha", "Caipirosca", "Pinga", "Cachaça"... we also have pretty good beer down here as well. I don't think all that booze warrants a move but having those + GW is surely worth a visit right?
