I had some time off from work and decided to play regularly in a local 5 week Warmachine League. I had to get back into the game to do so, due to many constraints on my free time I had sold my old Cygnar army. I thought it was a decent army but I always thought it would be better with alot of Solos. They seem to add something special to your armies abilities and make the game much cooler to play. So when I got back into Warmachine I was delighted to find that I could now make an army of Solos and I did so.



In the League I had twice as many points as 2nd place for the majority of the league. I didn't have to play in the last week I was so far ahead. And I won 13 games in a row to get the Relentless medal. I'm not saying this army is the be all end all, far from it. My opponents were skilled but defintely not tournament champions. However it does illustrate how strong the army can be. I'm am only selling the army now because I am concentrating all of my free time on Poker.

830 points. At 750 you just remove Haley and whichever Solo is least useful for that match up.



This army has two casters, Siege is amazing against a shootier list and Haley is great against assault orientated lists. They still both do well against all comers but you can switch it up for a change of pace and the army will still function as a team. The strategy behind the list is to have a toolbox that allows you to counter or neutralize any troublesome units. Here are just a few tricks:



- Using Lady Aiyana you can even stop most Spells and Feats and reliably since Holt protects her. Even long range guns can't touch her if you keep them in a Foxhole or behind a smoke template.

- Between Siege's Foxhole and Higher Ground spells you can blanket the entire army in high defense scores from shooting and keep the Long Gunners safe from AOE effects. Smoke effects from Finn and Gorman should handle the rest of their shooting. You can even have the Piper make the Long Gunners Tough for that extra insurance.

- Jacks can be neutralized with the Disruption and oftentimes just shot down by two POW 20 Long Gunner shots and two POW 14 shots from Siege(which are boostable). These same two key units can lay waste to infantry just as easily as Jacks.

- The Journeyman and Doc can boost your casters army by 3 and heal him every turn.

- Infantry heavy armies can be crushed with Alexia, every time you kill one of their men you gain one between their forces and yours that they have to slog through.

- This isn't just a defensive shooting army. If you decide to go toe to toe with someone Siege, Doc, Hawk and 2 Ogrun Bokur can do the job handily.

- Remember just when you think the situation is dire and the enemy Jack/Caster has been buffed to ridiculous levels, Aiyana can Doom a it to give you an extra damage dice on each roll until the end of the turn. If the Ogrun Bokur rolls 3 attacks(PoW 17) he can roll 5 damage dice on his first swing and 4 on the next two. Then you can have another Bokur do the same. That's some sort of deadliness. This army is defintely an example of the whole being even stronger than it's parts. It really has alot of synergy.

- Something neat about this is you have a counter for everything you employ yourself. If they buff thier units you can use Siege's feat. If they want to attack you speedily you can use Haley instead to control their movement.You can counter your enemies Aiyana and Holt with Stormsmiths. Thier attacks are not ranged so Holt cannot stop them.



This army comes with Decks for Cygnar and Mercenaries, a couple of GF9 templates, some smoke/foxhole/higher ground templates and the models are base coated white and color coded with washes. If you want to paint them yourself they can be dipped in Simple Green and ready to paint in 24 hours. This army has a retail value of $320. All of these items will be wrapped thoroughly in bubble packaging material and placed in a box full of styrofoam peanuts. Rest assured they will arrive quickly and safely.
