New poster here!

I was just wondering, I am not to clear on the 5th Ed rules but what I remember from 4th ed was that if a transport moved over 12 inches, the passengers inside of a Vehicle could not shoot out of it. I am assuming the same rule applies in 5th ed or something similar. Now if you have a Wierdboy that is attached to a squad of boyz in a Trukk and it moves its full 18", will the Wierdboy still get to roll its chart and then possibly fire off a shot with its psychic powers? It says on page 37 of the Ork Codex that "At the beginning of each Ork shooting phase, a Wierdboy must roll on the following table to find out which psychic power he must use that turn."

I see two conflicting things here, but to me it seems like no matter what I would have to roll on that chart no matter what and whever I get happens, even if it is firing a shot out of an open top vehicle. I want to know what everyone else thinks.

Seems pretty simple. First off, only two of the wierdboys powers count as shooting, according to the new FAQ. Secondly, you have to do what it says you "must" do. You roll for the wierdboys power before the movement phase. So if you roll one of the shooting powers, and you must use it, then you cannot do anything that would prevent you from using it. Therefor you cannot move the trukk more than 12" that turn, as this would prevent you from using the wierdboys shooting attack. This would follow the same logic GW has presented in other FAQs, such as bloodclaws not being able to fire rapid fire weapons in a turn in which they could charge the enemy, as this would prevent them from doing something they "must" do.

I looked the in FAQ I got off the Warhammer site and it did not mention changing about when the power is rolled. In the codex is plainly states that the power is rolled at the beginning of the Shooting Phase and not the movement Phase (Page 37 Ork Codex). Is there an even newer FAQ that I am missing?

Angron's answer is way off. Ignore it.

If you roll a shooting power, then you can shoot if you are allowed to, based on the movement of the trukk. The other powers function normally, including "'ere we go" per the newest faq.

So if I roll and 2 or 3 and get the two shooting powers, then do I reroll or is it a wasted round of psychic powers?
