Thought I post this here for you terrain folks to take a look at.

I've started construction on a what you could call a "local planetary Imperial Palace."
I'll post here when I make progress (about once a week or so between other smaller projects).

The link: http://fromthewarp.blogspot.com/2008/08/imperial-palace-full-size-mock-up.html
Thanks for checking it out, comments and advice are most certainly welcome.

When people ask me, "How do you build your army?"
I tell them its "The ten-zero factor, coolness ten, combat effectiveness... zero."

Heya Ron, Good to see you forum side ^_^.

Folks, seriously, go check this thing out. It's going to be ridiculous when it's finished!

You might think to add pics and the like this side of things to show your current progress. A bit easier to put up a quick WIP photo using the attachments option than to create an entire blog entry ^_-.

EDIT: Wait, sorry, those pics weren't yours. They were from the GW site. Damn. And here I was thinking GW had finally released the unreleased CoD sprue...

grey_death: Thanks for the welcome, I don't get out much but I figured others might want to see this monster.

H.B.M.C.: No, the pics under the sketches and planning post were from the GW site... they are the reference I am using to build mine. All the pics from the construction post are mine though, naturally.

I've got the facade almost complete now and should have those pics up in the next few days or so. The eagle was a bit problematic but came out fairly good in the end.

Drake_Marcus: It's true- that's why the Space Wolves love termie armour so much. The whole "bear" thing they've got going on is just a thinly veiled cover-up of their huge, hairy cleavage.

Altar?

In the Imperial Palace on Terra?

Is this the Imperial Palace pre or post Heresy?

Or did you mean Throne Room?

Either way, this is a very nice project you've got going on!

Alpharius: Thanks, but this project is much smaller in scale.

Think of this more like a small Imperial palace that would be on any one of the Imperial planets scattered throughout the galaxy.
Maybe even more like a shrine or a building used by a Marine Chapter for local planetary recruitment.

Small update for you guys following this project...

I've finished the bulk of the pre-fab work on the Palace and all that remains is the detail work (all the really time consuming stuff) now.

Here's a link to the current project update, you can click on the last pic in the post for a big picture of the Palace as it stands now.

I posted a small update to the Palace progress today.
I've managed to get a few odds and ends done since my last post.
