I want to use this list tomorrow night in a Fantasy battle. The list is a change for me in that I use no Gnoblars (not even trappers) and I have Yhetees and Gorgers (never used those before...)...

The Idea is that the units move forwards threatening the enemy. Then disrupt a magic phase (hellheart) of the opponent if nescesary and double charge everything in except the belchers, I will take flanks when possible and prime targets are sorcerers and hardhitting characters. With a bit of luck the gorgers will be there on turn 2 (or at least 1) and go warmachine and small group hunting. The Hunter will be there to fill gaps and be a general nuissance. (I have thought of dropping him and taking a few manhunters, but I am unsure on that...)

Tell me what you think of the list and the tactics

I don't like the setups on the characters, though they're not all bad.

If you're going to use the Hunter (a sub-standard choice), the Bullgut isn't a terrible way to run him, but with the Sabertusks he's already above US5 for flank charges. He needs the Longstrider big Name to be used very well in that fashion as a fast flanker. Also I think the Wyrdstone should be on the Tyrant rather than the Hunter.

Are you using BeastKiller on the Tyrant because you figure the Tenderizer will just be Negated by a Blood Thirsters Obsidian armor? It's probably not a bad idea, but it's one I just don't like and it removes his character assassination runs other than the BT. Against Daemons with a BT, you should be playing for a draw anyway.

All the extra Gnoblar stuff you've bought for the Characters should probably be dropped, other than say a Lucky Gnoblar on the Tyrant.

Ditto on the Stuff for the Bulls units. Ironfists and Light Armor generally are a waste of points and the Bulls should be run Naked with a Bellower and you should just buy more Bulls. If that's not an option then just regular old Extra Hand Weapons should work.

I also don't like having the Butchers in Bulls units, I prefer them with Iron Guts to get their LD up to 8 if the General isn't around, but you're only running 3 "Ogre" units.

Personally I prefer a lot more units on the table. My normal 2k point list is a little similar, though I don't add Yhetti's into the mix until I hit 2250 points. Here's my normal 2k Tournament List if you were wondering what I run with them:

Tenderizer Tyrant, Longstrider, Wyrdstone - 295

Butcher - 155

mm, point taken on the Hunter, will change that out. The gnoblar addons was because I had 20 points left and nothing to do with them. I might be able to add more bulls when I combine the points with the points of losing armour and ironfist on the bulls...

What I do not exactly get is why the tyrant alone? If he has some protection he will perform better IMHO, although with the M7 he is a lot faster then normal bulls...

The Ironguts I have no more of the models then the 4 used. Also was not (yet) planning on adding more to them any time soon. The Hunter is instead of a third butcher, because That is another model I do not have. I could take a normal bruiser in his stead though...

I will try to adjust the list and in the meantime please give some more comments...

Even with Longstrider the Tyrant doesn't have to run solo. He CAN, but if they have a lot of shooting or you're afraid of certain charges or character assassins, you can hide him in a unit and then charge out if you want.

I understand that not having the models puts a crimp on things and you're probably making the best of what you have available. It's not a bad list, but I can tell you from experience that Ogres need a LOT of units on the table to compete effectively.

London (work) / Pompey (live, from time to time)

it might be worth changing the army to include a few manhunters with cathayan longswords, due to the increaced WS they stand a chance of killing characters rather than the odd unit.

the hunter is good, but as mentioned, give him longstrider, makes him alot more useful.
and remember he has his own little bolt thrower
so many people forget about that lol, try and use that on a unit thats getting close (small unit) then charge in, on average it should kill 3-4 models from a unit of 10-15, then charging in with him and 2 sabertusks will finish off the unit.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.
