Im curious to know what happened to the Primarch of the Emperors CHildren. I know he eventually became a DP and killed another primach, but not a whole lot else

and i know theres a book, but all my spare deng is going towards models right now

Ok, Fulgrim, after killing Ferrus Manus, went mad and offered himself to the daemon inside his sword. It possessed him, so now he's just a trapped, regretful soul in the corner of his stolen mind.

AKA the Arthas effect....

Speaking of does anyone know exactly when Fulgrim's fate was first documented? I'm just curious if the boys at the black library decided to steal something from blizz (which, frankly, considered all blizzard has stolen is more than fair) or if it is yet another failure of originality at blizzard? I've always wondered.

@gfalexander: you mean the Sarah Kerrigan effect...actually, if you don't mind me going all Shakespearean (well, more properly, Miltonian) on y'all, it's the Lucifer effect. It's great fluff because it's derivative of the greatest fluff.

Actually, Kerrigan was betrayed by her allies and forcefully integrated into the swarm; if anything her story runs more parallel to Magnus the Red (the Primarch who tried to save the emperor and was in fact betrayed by him). Kerrigan's tale, while similar to arthas and fulgrim, is actually closer to magnus' attempt to save the emperor which in fact enfuriated him (Kerrigan saving zerg from protoss attack only to be betrayed by mengsk who wanted the swarm to march on the terran defenses and left her for dead when the mission was achieved). Then again the greatest primarch of all lore wise is clearly alpharius, provided you know how Legion ends at least.

Interesting point on the shakespearean- I never knew that. Something I'll have to look up.

Well here's a question, so if fulgrim was the first known DP, and he became a DP because he realized just how truly F'ed up he was... does that mean?.... no .... it can't... can it?.... does that mean... that all Demon Princes are people who followed the route of Fulgrim?

Because he WASN'T the first Daemon Prince. The Prince was actually housed inside the sword and possessed his body. Most Princes give their souls willingly to the gods and are rewarded with daemonhood(or cursed with Spawndom, it all depends on the severity of the mutations), not possessed by a daemon blade.

And Fulgrim gave into the blade because he didn't have the strength to kill Ferrus himself. Fulgrim, possessed, beheaded his brother after giving in to the daemon, right there on the battlefield.

Plus, it's obviously not the way all DPs come to be because it's a special case, and you don't see Angron getting all choked up about chopping heads off, or his weapon of choice.

and then once he became a DP he killed the french guy primarch of the ultramarines, correct?

Fulgrim teamed up with horus .He fought against ferrus manus.When fulgrim used the possessed sword ,the demon inside tricked him to give the control over his body to the demon.The demon killed ferrus and took fulgrim'soul as hostage.From this time on,
there was only a demon and no more fulgrim.

No, Fulgrim was there to bear witness to all the atrocities done in his name. Locked in a corner of mind, his only company his shame, his fear, and the whispered taunts of the demon who now has dominion over his body, and mind.

Well, sucks to be Fulgrim

Fulgrim is not a daemon prince. A daemon prince is a mortal who is elevated to daemonhood by the gods of Chaos. Fulgrim is a mortal whose body is taken over by a daemon. So the winged red daemon is still Angron and the grim reaper daemon is still Mortarion and the flying monkey daemon is still Magnus - they're all still the same guys, they've just been "promoted". But the purple snake daemon with 4 arms is NOT Fulgrim - he's the daemon who stole Fulgrim's body.
