hi everyone, a friend of mine asked me about what is a better an all elf and all wood spirit
army and what was better for tornaments (but it has to be one or the other).

In a turnie I always do a balanced mix of the both. The elfs can shoot and have some good units that can dish out pain while the forest spirits can dish out more then they can take but have no shooting and hardly any magic. I guess it would depend upon what ur friend would prefer. Themed armies are fun to play but IMO when it comes to RTT you need both elfs and forest spirits to maximize the effectiveness of the woodies. I played in a team turnie last week and got 2nd, Ogres and choas got 1st and we never got to play against them, with a good mix of forest spirits and elfs. In the end its what your friend wants.

what i'm asking is what is better in tornaments a forest spirit army or an all elf army they can be as dodgy as you want because the theme makes it less dodgy due to fluff

If you’re going pure one or the other I also prefer the elves. You can get a nice mix of shooting, magic, and HTH, or focus on one area, whereas the trees lock you into practically pure HTH. Trees have durability and immunity to psychology going for them, but the latter can be a disadvantage as well, since you can’t flee from charges.

I think its best to go with a mix of trees and elves as well. Elves provide magic, treesinging, shooting and fast calvary while trees provide toughness and high strength attacks. Elf BSB backing up Treemen or Treekin is great.

I think all elves might actually work better then all trees because of the flexibility Although all trees with Drycha can be pretty nasty.
