Hi. A few weeks ago I finished a Word Bearers Codex that I'd been working on. I was wondering what people thought of it.

Looks to me like you just rewrote chaos marines giving word bearers specific attention. With the daemon codex out it makes the daemons available to all chaos marine armies look asinine. This is a problem for all daemon using chaos marine players – not just world bearers. Giving spawn deep strike, having pysker bombs, and making Greater Daemons heavy is a bit eccentric. Having an army with exploding psykers, potentially three greater daemons, and a dark apostle coordinating his army by commanding them fall back is a bit of a divergence from the existing background.

Word bearers are demagogues, they raise followers and are the founders of religious cults - they use their mass of converted followers to drown their enemies. Their old list had them operate with diminished heavies, elites, and fast FOC with and increased troop FOC to represent that fact. A fluffy word bearer army would be one with 10 cultist to every marine – to bad GWS won’t let us play an army that reflects the background.

One thing GWS can do to resolve the chaos marine/daemon issue is to reintroduce the ability of allying like they had in 2nd edition. You could play chaos marines with an ally detachment of daemons. It would also allow space marines in an imperial guard army and vice ad versa.

Fluff wise world bearers are not traditional known for their excessive use of daemons. It used to be that they used masses of ignorant cultist and citizens to flood their enemies. Then GWS removed cultist from the chaos marine arsenal so the fluff was readjusted to have the world bearers using masses of daemons instead of cultist.

Also this should be under proposed rules
