Ok no pictures in this first post, so I likely won't get much response, however I will post pics tomorrow

I am doing a Luna Wolves army, something I have wanted to do since picking up Horus Rising. And now feel that their time has come with the imminent release of the new Marine codex.

I am using nothing but Rogue Trader era models, including bikes, speeders, dreadnoughts, jetbikes, RTBO1 Marines, and a whole slew of awesome metal character/special marine models.

I am somewhat bound by my squad layouts as I have very few Lascannons (3) and Plasma guns (1). I do however have a tonne of Missile Launchers (20+), and an equal amount of flamers. I'd love to have a Bike Command squad, but alas...missing those extra 5 bikes :(

So without further ado here is the tentative list...(in shortened form)

Captain on bike

2 Dreads 1 w. AssCan, 1 w. TL LC
1 Ironclad

5 bikes - 2 meltas, PF

5 bikes +attack bike - 2 Meltas, PF, Multimelta

10 Marines - Missile Launcher, Meltagun, PF
Rhino

10 Marines - Missile Launcher, Meltagun, PF
Rhino

10 Marines - Lascannon, plasma gun

Is it going to dominate the local tournament scene? No liekyl not, but I have current gen. marines for that

Will it look cool? I certainly hope so

Tomorrow: Picture of model with test paint scheme.
Picture of army in shambles (pre-stripping, pre-assembly)

And my goal for this force is to be ready to game by X-Mas, so it won't be done overnight, as with work, and some part time school, I don't have a tonne of free time.

Expect progress pics fairly often though, like to keep myself motivated

Cheers all!!

Interested to see how it goes. I've tried to build a real oldskool theme in to my marine army by incuding older armour variants and bolters. I'm not sure if using the very olde minis will look oldskoolcool, or just dated though.
