Something I've found amusing recently is going through the Chaos Space Marine and Chaos Daemon codex, and weighing up which of the Dark Powers that the Blood Angels seem to be falling to.

At first I thought they would be falling to Khorne, what with the whole Black Rage thing, but something I think that's underplayed is Lord Mephiston's Hypnotic Gaze, a characteristic of Greater Daemons of Slaanesh. Likewise the fact that the Blood Angels have a certain decadence to them, actively pursuing artistic endeavours that don't involve killing the enemies of the Emperor.

What do you think?

Well, according to the new Space Marine Codex, the Blood Angels aspire to be like the Ultramarines, but due to their gene-seed will never be as good.....so if thats supposed to be their aspiration I can't see them falling to chaos anytime soon.

well according to the new codex,everything wants to be ultramarines they should just rename it codex:Ultramarines.

and i would think it would be khorne due to thier bloodlust.

Well the Chapter name is Blood Angels and Khorne is the Blood God.

Why should the BA downgrade themselves to slaves of chaos ?

Was it epic win for the world eaters to join? I think not. The WE were destroyed as coherent legion and lost any chance of
victory to eternal slaughter. With this failure in mind any "turn" to the blood "God" is a way to defeat.

So,where does this "Blood Angels turn to..." come from?

I just can't see someone able to resist beeing a monster to fall to ruin.

lmao thats exactly how i feel. good stuff. i never really thought about the BA falling, but obviously to say they cant would be hogwash. personally i think that ANY SM can fall to the taint of chaos, just the same i think that chaos marines can realize they were wrong and try to atone for the wrong doings.

i do however like the slaanesh idea. honestly the whole BLOOD angles mean they are followers of the BLOOD god is kindda dumb. so they share the same name big deal.

Not any Space marine. Remember the Grey Knights? None of them has ever turned to chaos.

I could see that if the Blood Angels would fall they would follow Tzeentch.
Why?
The BA geen-seed is overcome with the black rage, slowly killing them. It is said in the fluff that they are a dying chapter.
So in desperation Mephiston dose exactly what Ahriman did for the Thousand Sons, using the rubic spell to "save" his brothers...
and ending up turning them into dust but that´s another issue

Well, then there is the chapter called Exorcists. They are incorruptible to chaos because they have been possessed by a daemon during recruiment.

That only proves that they already went there, not that they are incorruptible.

If you are possessed by a daemon and then free yourself from it, you cannot be possessed again, nor can the energies of chaos effect you.

I see the Blood Angels destroying themselves before they fall to Chaos. But I could see a Chapter like the Flesh Tearers going to Khorne.

Good question, here's my breakdown:
1. Nurgle: The BA don't have much rotting, decay, or sickness going on. The only angle that I could see would be some Apothecary seeking Papa's help to fix the gene curse.
2. Tzeentch: I just don't see it, especially since they already resisted the Changing of Ways that ex-Inquisitor Stele tried to inflict.
3. Slaanesh: Possibly. They start to love battle a bit too much...and next thing you know out come the death guitars.
4. Khorne: My vote is here. Blood themes are strong. This could easily happen, though it's such an easy one, we'd need some extra "oomph" to make it a dramatic story. Honestly, who would be surprised if, all of the sudden, some BA's rage out, go to far, and put those funky berserker helmets on?

i think they could be falling to dark powers, but they do not realize it.
