What the crap is up with that??? A Muslim group gets offended by a few lines of ONE song in the game so Sony pulls the whole damn thing back to remove it.

I wasn’t even planning on getting this game and I’m still pissed at this bull honestly what do you think would have happened if say a Christian group (or any other religious group for that matter) said they got offend by it???

I'm not sure what the big screaming deal is, as it's only being delayed by a single week. Unless you're implying that Muslims are trying to destroy our freedoms through video games?

Maybe they are, Christians have tried things as crazy. Maybe they just wanted to flex some social muscle. Maybe they just made a complaint and got heard through all the background noise. Maybe pirate copies of the original maight actually be worth something some day.

i am implying that everyone nearly thier pants when a muslim group complains about two lines in one of the background songs.... or when they complain about anything really.

All right. I work at Sony and I can tell you the truth.

The game was pulled because of the Koranic verses in the song. These should have been noticed earlier in the development process but weren't. Not surprisingly, considering the size and complexity of the game and the fact that we don't employ any Arabic speaking staff except in our regular QA department.

It is not a result of protests from Muslim groups because there haven't been any. It is a result of not wanting to damage the company's good name by profaning someone's religion. Muslims take the Koran very seriously.

There is no justification for releasing a videogame with a song in it just as a kind of "Up yours" gesture to Muslims.

We got enough stick from the Manchester Cathedral issue, the Goat incident and the Murder by PlayStation problem, which were all accidents and misunderstandings. We don't need to deliberately annoy a substantial section of the world's population, just to avoid a few week's delay.

mabey sony is pulling it because they dont want to have buildings blowed up because some guy a few french fries short of a happy meal dident like the song and straped a pile of C 4 to his chest.

i have yet to see sony appolgise for all of the other fraggin crap they produce.

Has the Pope recently ordered the faithful to kill the makers of South Park because they have Jesus on the show on a more or less regular basis? Have a bunch of old-school Rabbis declared war on the same show because of Cartman's anti-semetic ways?

I am all for freedom of speech and such but maybe it would be better to close this thread. Religion is not to be discussed on a site like this. I am a fundamentalist Christian protestant and all this page makes me want to do is fight with the atheists and put down Islam. However We have forums for things like this throughout the web and I suggest that, to keep this site peaceful that we should leave religious views out off it.
