I just got my hands on the GorkaMorka books and well, I kind of skimmed through the book and ruleswise it seems very similar to Necromunda which leaves me wondering, how compatible are the two? Would it be possible to simply "transfer" GorkaMorka units/rules/gear into Necromunda or would they need serious modifications?

I´ve never read the gorkamorka book, but since both systems are based of 2nd ed 40K they should be mostly compatible...

The question would mostly be whether the costs of things are compatible, or if some factor needs to be taken into account?

I´m thinking, what does an Autogun cost in Gorkamorka? what does a Bolt Pistol cost? Is it the same as in Necro?

GorkaMorka already started looking at 3rd edition styled Ork weapons, the rules were very much 2nd edition based by the names were no longer Imperial, they had Shootas, Sluggas and so on. Somebody on Warseer mentioned that 1 Teef from GorkaMorka was similar to 10 Credits in Necromunda.

If you can still find it somehow, ASH WASTES was an attempt to get the Necromunda out of the hive setting.

In it, there were/are numerous vehichels and conversion Ideas right out of Gorkamorka.
BOTH games mesh entirely together, save the teef thing, which by all accounts can easily be part of the RPG elements.

Teef/ creds can easily work out in the zones, especially when people/fings trade anything of value.

As for directions to find this stuff,
1. There was a batch of rules over in the specialist games site, except now that GW has made the grade, yet again of jacking it up, it takes some looking.
2. The Necromunda Magazines- these old tomes have multiple articles about the ash waste zones, the rules for the buggies, etc.
3. I've been seeing some of Grey deaths stuff that he references, and there is alot of the same for this, as well.
4. Ms. Dewey knows all, Ask her.
