Definately a different theme for a chaos army

Love the idea, I'm just not sure about the visuals of all your characters and elite units in full plate when its 2500 years ago - all the pictures seem to show Sigmar and the rest of the tribes as barbarian hordes (go marauders!)

As far as I can tell from the fluff even dwarfs didn't have full plate back then...

While you sleep, they'll be waiting...

Have you thought about the Axis of Evil pension scheme?

one thing for sure its a very fast army, your opponent probably has only one turn of shooting/magic phase on those knights before you hit combat..

with that many horsemen its pretty hard for them to bait your knights..

maybe some magic defense would be good, sometimes even one successful spell from an enemy mage could turn the tides around in his favor....

life.

that actually looks like an all mounted list that could work (excluding brets of course)

and the theme is pure win.

on the question of dwarves having full plate back then...if that were the case, more would have died in the war of vengence.

I collect:

Grand alliance death (whole alliance)

Stormcast eternals

Slaves to Darkness - currently Nurgle but may expand to undivided.

The nice thing is, all of the units of knights have MR 2, as all the characters have items to give them MR 2. Then, any units shooting at the knights have -1 to hit, as all of the characters have Mark of Nurgle. So the knights themselves are relatively safe.

As far as them not having armor back then, according to Heldenhammer, Alaric the Mad taught Pendrag how to make iron armor, and all of the Unberogens were equipped with this.... which makes me sad that I have to take marauder horsemen for core.

Doesn't fury of the blood god prevent you from taking magic items? if so you will need to loose the rapier on that Champion.

Also doesn't Archaon require his unit to be unmarked? This I am not to sure about but I would consider the Banner of Rage for his unit. As this would make them that much stronger.

Archaon no longer restricts his Knight unit, so they can be marked however you like.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Yeah, Chaos should be played with very mobile units only. But do you need Archaon?

Well, you're half right. The Magic Resistance will cover the unit, which is nice, but the Mark of Nurgle says that any shooting targetting a MODEL with the Mark is at -1 to hit. A character with MoN will not protect the entire unit.

Luckily, there's at least a partial fix for this. You can take the MoN on the Knights and give them the Banner of Rage for Frenzy and the MoN benefits. It'll be more expensive, but at least you'll actually be able to get the benefits. Personally, I don't see the point in putting Frenzy on such an expensive unit, but hey, it's your call.

Aside from that whole rules-lawyering thing, this list looks extremely fragile. Yes, it's fast, but even a single unit that survives a charge could ruin the game for you, and any artillery will be cutting those Knights down immediately. Basically, your entire army can be summed up by your 3 Knight units, and while they are beefy, they're only three units.

It's not really a "new" take on Chaos...Chaos is very effective, is low on models, as a all Mounted list. Screen when needed and avoid getting stuck in against tar pit units and you will do fine. Magic heavy armies/gun lines have to try to keep you at a arms distance but you are fast enough to really only suffer 2 turns of magic/shooting. I helped a friend run a similar list, except no Archaon, and it does well...only thing to really look out for?

Cannons or Bolt Throwers getting that flanking shot. Destroys yours knights....avoid that at all cost

You flatter me. But really, I'm just an ordinary guy. I put my pants on the same way anybody else does: I put a gun to the head of my manservant and bark Russian military commands at him until the poor blighter either figures it out or watches his brains exit his forehead.
