With the lessons learned from my previous projects, Warriors from the Scrapyard and the Plague of the Machines I started something new.

Epic always intrigued me and the Titans were probably some of the coolest things out there. Now the idea of starting a Chaos force appealed to me for some time now, but I'm not a big fan of buying new stuff so I decided to try out something what is expected from me. Simply scratchbuilt these machines of war and create something totally twisted.

The first model currently stands little over 4cm tall, some might say that that is too big for a Warhound but luckily GW has been very inconsistent about the sizes of the Titans and scale creeps are quite common in Epic so I can sleep safely without having to worry about that, especially since the model would probably fit on those round 40k Terminator bases (40mm?).

But yeah, the WIP pictures:

I liked the idea of these Titans being more organic, maybe even creatures from the Warp with weapons strapped to them, or some sort of gigantic mutated lifeforms which have been subjugated by Chaos forces and forced into battle covered in armour and weapons. The model above still needs it's weapons and a new paintjob before it's finished. I'm currently looking for bits to make decent arms/mounts for the weapons.

Its good to see someone else taking up Epic. I've recently started buying Epic Eldar and it was the titans that got me hooked aswell. Its an interesting idea but what is that made out of? It looks scarily like the remains of a dead, plucked chicken with armour and spikes added to it.

Hehehe, disturbed daemonic chickens!

The skeleton is made from whatever I could get my hands on, parts of lighters, tiny plastic bits for the legs. I then covered it all with some glue (just check the Plague of Machines link for more on that) which I then covered with metal plating to look like it's armoured. The spikes are growing out of the creature's back through the armour as you can sort of see here:

Now I've got the bits to make two weapons (one for each arm) but I lack the materials to make two arms for the which look the same. So that will have to wait. I will probably start on a second Warhound which will look very similar but with different armour on.

I have to be honest and say I've not always been a huge fan of the way these projects of yours look - I do however think the idea of a captive, gun/armour-laden demon representing a titan is cool as hell.

With this current model, I think the head/face needs more defining, as at the moment it looks like something died and then partially melted. The rest is much better defined, and consequently much better. Good luck on this project anyway.

I agree with you on the head, I wanted to give it lots of eyes similar to a spider or like the body try to encapsulate it in armour. But yeah...I need to get my hands on more materials first.

I started working on a second body, this one is a little bit shorter but is also walking instead of having this more static pose. The head is also somewhat different, having an armoured plate in front of it's face.

I'm not 100% happy with how this figure turned out, so for now this project (which has been redubbed "Chaos Titan Legion") will currently be put on hold.

Quite sickening. I like it. And I second death master, first thing I thought was "oh, chaos raw chicken". In a twisted, sickening and absolutely fantastic way, of course
