I would like to present my growing army of space marines.

One tactical from AoBR:

One veteran with power weapon:

His banner is taken from the captain of AoBR:

So comment my paint abilities. What should I improve? Also is my lighting good? I will post more.

Well they are quite green, arent they. The are fairly solid for Table top quality.
The reds look like they could be brighter, or have more highlights, but it may just be the lighting.
You may want to start drilling out the gun barrels, it makes the finished product look better.
But all in all you have very crisp clean lines.

The whole tactical squad waiting for the enemy in ruins. What enemy could be waiting for them?

My God-Emperor! It's the nids.

Better lights this time?

I really like the bright green you've done here.
Good inspiration for me as I'm thinking about starting a Salmanders force here real soon.

Thanks for the answers!

So far I have one tactical squad and a librarian painted. Now I'm working with a second tactical squad and converting sternguards. After tacticals I think I start painting my terminators.

So I plan to convert a full squad of sternguards. I convert them from tacticals so when I do not field them they serve as tacticals. They fit nicely into two tactical squads.

Here is the sergeant with Hellfire rounds. He is mostly made of Assault on Black Reach sergeant. I just cut the head off and replaced it with a beakie helmet and changed the chainsword arm to a hand which held a grenade. Then I just cut some more and added a kroot bit. The bolter includes a targeter but you cannot see it from this angle.

Nice high color, high contrast scheme. These would be fun to face on the table.

I think you should paint the shoulderpads like "scales"

I really don't have skills for that, sorry. And there's no reason to do that: this army isn't Salamanders! That's why the topic is "My green marines" and not "My Salamanders".
You could also see that from the weaponry . Well it's true I didn't say they weren't Salamanders.

By the way, over half of my next tactical squad is ready. Gotta post my librarian here too...

Have you people got any ideas how to base my marines? I'm not quite good at basing so please post some good links.

Big update! I haven't had much time to paint because of new figs.

Here are six members of second tactical squad:

My librarian's model is the old Tigurius model. I like the model and I also like the fact that it can be played as the special character.
I plan to field him with Gate of Infinity and The Avenger.

Just another Sternguard. He's equipped with vengeance rounds

So I got my half of a Ravenwing battleforce which means 3 bikers and an attack bike, so one of the bikers became my count-as Kor'sarro Khan. I had no real plans for the model but it turned out fine

Nice work dude! I like the vibrant green a lot more than I expected I would.

Nice and simple...yet effective conversion for your counts-as Kor'sarro Khan.

Thank you. If it interests you, my Khan is made of these parts:
-Devastator sergeant backpack and head
-Ravenwing bike and bits such as purity seals, shoulder pads
-Ravenwing bike sergeant legs
-Skull-wing things from IG tank bits
-Chaos biker right hand (you may notice the spike)
-Black templar power sword
-Space marine commander holstered pistol
-Space marine mark 8 power armour

Notice the small handle near his left leg. I glued it there so he can pick Moondrakkan up and run with it.

The base colour is Vallejo's Sick Green. Sick Green is nice change from for example Snot Green. I add skull white for highlighting and chaos black for shading. Pretty simple but nice looking.

Thanks to you too . I looked for more dynamic theme for my second tactical squad as the marines of the other squad simply stand.

good job man, some constructive criticism though:

I think the edging on your marines' shoulders can be a bit thick at times.

try wetting only the very edge of your brush when you do the edging.

I like the green but IMO the Red looks awful, try bone or yellow instead.

Oh yes. It is sometimes hard with the shoulders because I have to mix a lighter colour for the highlight and then I have too much paint on the brush.

You are somehow right but I think I'll keep the red because it really looks good alongside with green. I will do my best to make my red better.

My, I really laughed . I thought all Ultra logos are gone but I noticed it while I painted the chest. I guess I am just a lazy bastard.
