I want to do an army based around General Orientalist themes (India to Japan) with no particular era.

This is the first complete (minus bugger-of-a-leader-to-paint) regiment called the 'Tigers of Tai-Zhan'



Maybe another white wash to tone down the blue in the snow.....?

This will be my Elephant Rough Rider Squadron (Unnamed, but maybe 'Moghul Squadron'

The thing on the head is because I thought it more Grimdark to have direct mind control and everyone knows an Angry Elephant is never really your friend on the Battlefield.



The things on its back are weapon mounts, the back one has slipped a little because they're not fixed on yet.

I dunno, man... Seems like this could easily be mis-interpreted, depending on how you approach it.

I disagree with John, I think its a good idea. I love themed armies. I think if it gets misinterpreted it would be people being overly sensitive. A lot of GW armies are based around geographical themes kislev, & tallarn desert raiders spring immediately to mind.

I like the elephant idea too. are they going to count as just rough riders?

also, a bit on constructive criticism. I would paint the trim of the bases a different colour from the surface. Itll make 'em look a bit neater.

Hmm. I think the elephant needs more than just a plug stuck in his head.

He needs some more cords and things.

I'd prefer a Mumak.

Base looks largely unfinished though. I didn't realize that was a paint job and
thought you were sculpting something with filler.

Its snow done with no more nails equivalant glue. Does need neatening up, but in my long list its a fairly low level prioty (though I'll probably end up doing it tonight!) until it gets to go to actual wargame.

Added weapon to 'Heavy Weapon' Mammoth



Hmm, looks a little lop sided, but that's ok, the arch thing isn't glued on yet.

Note to self: Remake your light box and dont use pva.

Added a mobile 'engine' for the bfog (Big.. gun). Will put a strap around the 'operator's'back and a leather 'headband' to finish off the thing on the elephants head. Then it's just paint up time.

The things on its back are a wicker place mat as an underblanket and chopped up pieces of a woman's belt as a over blanket. Will fill those gaps...

I made the coolie hat. Harder than it looks.

May base it, may not.

Currently working on a commandant figure/bio-baneblade and my idea for Sentinels involves peacock tails....

i dunno about the animals, it still looks like a toy to me.

and your recommendation for curing that...?
