Well I swear I already started this project log but i cannot find it any where so i thought i'd start it again seems i have a update.

Necrons were my first main army for 40k, I've always been interested them and thought they was cool before getting into the hobby itself. Once I had purchased the battle for macragge set and got used to the rules i purchased my first necrons and the codex

I've now got a dedicated list for playing 1,500 and 2,000 point games. As my missus is now expecting all my 40k armies have to stop, so i'm getting them all to 2,000 points and i'm done.

Thought I would add what has been completed so far:

Destroyer Lord painted and washed

Nightbringer painted and washed

Lord painted and washed

5 x Immortals painted and washed

6 x Flayed Ones painted and washed

12 x Warriors painted and washed

12 x Warriors painted and washed

12 x Warriors painted and washed

12 x Warriors

3 x Wraiths painted and washed

4 x Destroyers painted and washed

2 x Monoliths painted and varnished

1 x Monolith

Ok this project should be short compared to the others as I have all the models for the 1,500 list and only need another monolith for the 2,000 list. Only one unit and destroyer needs painting, while the others need touch ups and a wash

I have done the three painted destroyers, d-lord and the wraiths and two warriors so far with badab black wash, boltgun metal under coat, gold chest symbol, green ribs with goblin green dry brush for a faint glow.

Here's what I have done so far and what I have to do. I did miss off a pic of the two monoliths, one is already sorted

Last night I did one squad and then the immortals, I still had time to do the lord on foot, flayed ones and one of the other squads - so now are all done! . I just need to do the second monolith, perhaps silver and I'm done . So 1,500 Necrons now all sorted

Here's a few shots. I'II get some proper ones up and I'm going to base coat the mono tomorrow among with some marine things.

All I have done is used bolt gun metal or mithril silver, then snot green for the rib recesses with goblin green as a highlight for a glow. Eyes have been done in snot green too. Shining gold for the chest symbol then dry brush of brown ink for rust. Finally a coat of badab black which makes them looked darker.

Here's better pics of what I've been doing. I just need to do one monolith. I'm not sure whether to keep it pure black with only green highlights for the glow and hand painted symbols, or paint it silver as my other is black with green cracks in the structure. Choices choices.

Pics aren't brilliant but I like what I see thus far. I always liked classic 'crons and these seem to be very nicely done. Keep it up and build a light tent!!

Update on a half painted monolith and the finished battered warriors which i have done in white. They are not as good as normal because I was on the phone at the time, but I guess lesson is do not paint and and yak! I'm also tempted to re-do the army in white, however I have finished the army now except for the Deceiver.

Would help a lot with some decent pictures to go from.

Two main problems I see, is you are not using a macro feature (or using a poor one) and you have next to no lighting to take the pics with.

With some better pics, comments could be more accurate, as now they just look blurry, hard to make out stuff...

I guess its the macro as a desk lamp is right behind the camera.

Though the last pic came out ok.
