Hey all

I was wondering how feasible an all nurgle force would be. I understand a good block of 20 PBs is one of the hardest anvils in the game, but the question is what hammers do we have to compliment them while sticking with a nurgle theme.

I was also thinking of using the forge world plague ogryns for beasts of nurgle. Not only are they cheaper (IIRC) but that would provide me several different, good sculpts compared to one average one. So with that avenue open, what would be a good amount of them? We can only have two units, since they are a rare choice, but how many in each unit? I would assume 3, like Ogres, since too wide of a frontage and you are wasting points.

Also, what type of Lords and Heros of nurgle do you all prefer?

Thanks for any help! Hopefully several posts from now I can have a list constructed.

If you take epidemius and some staffs of nurgle, every unit becomes a hammer unit.

Yeah, PBs + Epidemius +herald+ GUO= profit. Make sure to staff spam too. One of the most ridiculous armies in WHFB.

Also, nurglings are hilarious w/Epi.

Nurgle is just plain broken in both Mortals and daemons, makes you wonder if they even playtested these things before unleashing them on the gaming public

Okay then. Based on this thread and a lot of soul searching, I have decided I want to play nurgle but I do NOT want to drop all that cash on the sub par plaguebearer models. Do not get me wrong, they are not bad, they are just not at the level of their price. If they were one peice plastics, 10 for $20 maybe.

ANYWAY. So I decided to try and figure out a way to make this army without using those models. At first I thought to use ghouls, which would be cool, but characters are a problem and the only one that really goes with them is Epididdy and the winged vampire, in my opinion.

So rooting around on the GW site I came across an old love I never could afford or use back when I first fell in love with it (probably...17? ) the grail reliquae and pilgrims. I've always loved those pudgy little guys, so Im going to use them, and convert 3 reliquaes into different heralds on palanquins (probably wont use the knight at all from the waist up). And then I will use Epididdy as a general to tie the army together.

So here is the list.

Epididdy
Herald, Palanquin, Staff of Nurgle BSB Banner of Chaos Glory
Herald, Palanquin, Staff of Nurgle
Herald, Palanquin, Staff of Nurgle

16 PBs Full Command Icon of Eternal Virulence
16 PBs Full Command Icon of Eternal Virulence
16 PBs Full Command Icon of Eternal Virulence

5 Nurgling bases

Each herald goes in a unit, E-diddy goes in the nurglings.

1996, any suggestions? Chaos Glory might not be worth it, but if I understand right Demons pop test on LD, and that will make them test on an unmodified 8.

Thanks for the help!
