Hi Chaps.
I've been fixated on the idea of WH40K Assassins recently, possibly because as a fluff element they don't get much coverage....ok, in the latest Inquisitor books Assassins come into play, Mehlindi from the Inquisitor series for example.....but thats it, and each time they tend to play "bit roles".....
I was wondering what others thought about the abilities of Assassins compared with Space Marines......I know that in game terms they are pretty much on par with Marines, aside from their choice of armour! However, in fluff terms I'd imagine an Assassin to be a much more expensive commodity, in terms of bio upgrades, training, equipment etc etc.......given their rarity as well, and the level of control the High Lords have over the Assasinorium, I'd assume that the Imperium would be willing to spend a bit more on them compared to other operatives.
Could it be that the Assassin is the elite of the elite when it comes to Imperial Forces?
Also, why don't we hear more about other factions "assassins"....I'm sure Tau, Eldar, Dark Eldar, and even Chaos could use an Assassin tyoe character.....especially the Eldar!
Thoughts?
