If I get 9 of these monsters, I do not want to look like the ultimate gamer geek by walking in the game store with a 4' tall miniature case or 9 boxes. Anyone got any idea how many I can stuff in a double wide sabol case or that double wide gw case? Is there something else I should be looking at?

You can store them over at my house. I'll make sure they are safe.

I don't glue the wings on. I take them off for storage and transport, put them back on for games. They seem to be holding up well. Haven't fallen off once yet. Makes storage and transport a little easier.

I'm going to have 3 valks, 2 vends and 3 vultures for the new army.

I'm going to build a wooden crate and attach them to the sides (inside!) with magnets.

not sure how much this helps (with any luck it will)

look into getting yourself a rifle case or airsoft case.

that ones $90, but there are cheaper ones.
just search for airsoft gun case.

they are usually 3+ feet long and about a foot wide and about 9 or so inches deep.
most state the sizes on various sites though.

they are pretty solid ABS plastic to protect the guns that are usually stored in them.

they come with foam inside, but nothing is stopping you using a custom foam.

hope that helped.
got the idea while putting my G36c back in its case after sorting out the sight on it

the battlefoam 1520 case will hold 8 with wings removed for storage plus 140 troops. Rifle case wont work as the model is just too big vertically and the tail cannards are just a little bit fragile.

Besides 9 Valks are 103.5 Inches Wide.

If your plan is to do an Air Cav Army you will find that its pretty hard to make one viable with 9 Valks and if you go down to 8 then a single 1520 case will hold your entire army and pass the 4' test. ( The Battlefoam case tray combinations. are all tested filled with painted models and droped from 4' ten times, if any models are damaged then the tray is not put into production. )

Its not cheap though, not even a little bit, but hell if you are going to invest that kind of money and time into an Air Cav army, I would not skimp on protecting them.

I know rifle cases are tested to good degree aswell, ive dropped mine a few times accidently (once with my systema MP5 in it. £1,800 x.x)

also, you can buy them in alot of different sizes, one aimed at a support weapon (M60, SA85, SAW) should be about the right size.

I had a $20 rifle case from K-mart that I used to carry a 2000 pt empire army in. They work really good. But they are also kinda long and unwieldy sometimes.

But, I think for a valkyrie it might not work as well.. unless maybe it was thicker and had a few layers of foam and you could cut out some spaces for them to fit? You could also try walmart or some place like that for those cheapy plastic storage cases with wheels and all
