I'm kinda torn. I'm completing my Super-Heavy Battalion (yes, Battalion), and the last two tanks for that arrived today - a pair of Shadowsword kits. I'm going to build one Shadowsword as a Shadowsword, but I don't know what to do with the other one. The rest of the Battalion looks like this:
Baneblade
Baneblade
Baneblade
Hellhammer
Stormblade
Macharius
Macharius Vanquisher
Macharius Vulcan
So add a Shadowsword to that, and what else? I kinda want to have two Shadowswords, but I do have a softspot for the Stormlord. And I think the Banehammer just sounds cool, even if it's sort of an 'ok' tank.
Any suggestions folks?

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

Bladehammer, definitely.
Or maybe a fortress of arrogance if you feel up to the converting (and getting someone to splash paint on it.)

Borrowing Rama's idea i give you....
THE FLASH BLADE!@
thats right. 100 str 3 ap- shots.
*special rule, so bright are the flash lights , any units it fired on = auto pinned.
It also produces 10 faith points for Any sisters of battle on the field.
But in return they suffer from stupidity ( they claim to see divine visions from within the light , thus they'll stop w/e they were
doing and start worshiping the tank ) All friendly psyker and librarian and chaplain must remain in coherency with the vehicle.
Upgrade Option: for 100 points you may attach a giant magnifying glass , str 10 AP 3 heavy 3 large blast
"yes just like roasting ants "

No Stormsword love?
I love the Stormsword...
How about the Banesword? Looks cool, fits well next to the Shadowsword.
But there is something to be said for symmetry, and 2 Shadowswords would be pretty scary.

First shadowsword is set, a second would be good for SHV- hunting. Could be the "effective" choice here. Stormlord may be nice as transport if you want this. From an Anti-infantry point, your battalion is fine and doesn't need the stormlord. Banehammer seems not as primary choice, but it can slow down your opponent, so maybe useful too ? Would not be a big problem to change the kit to a swappable Stormlord/Banehammer. Enough similarities for that. I suppose either a : effective build = 2nd shadowsword softspot build = stormlord/banehammer a scratchbuild = stormhammer or inquisition tank get a third kit = 2nd shadowsword + one of the others Personally, would just get a third kit. If a decision has to be made, try 2 different designs ( backward gun emplacement / forward gun emplacement ). Still waiting for Alpharius stormhammer to look at...

I completely agree.
If you have 10 Superheavies, then you should be looking at *major* conversions:
- Armored Recovery Vehicle with dozer / plow, crane, winch, etc.
- superheavy artillery, basically a railroad gun on an extended Baneblade chassis, like Karl Gerat 040
If I ever go Apoc-crazy, I'll want:
- Stormhammer command tank
- Baneblade tank
- Shadowsword tank hunter
- Stormlord transport
- mega-ARV
- mega-artillery

You havn't indicated the Battalion Command tank... so maybe use the Stormlord for that Also, it could "pick up" stranded units - as opposed to "dropping off' passengers Another direction... SHV and Titan Hunter Company... combination of Shadowswords and Stormblades So, either two Shadowswords to go with your Stormblade, or one and another Stormblade And... magnetize all the hulls for fit out of any combo (without converting) so you could have three Shadowsword OR three Stomlords Just a thought, to maximise usability... with magnets, why limit yourself to just 'one' Mik

Honestly? I've never worked with magnets before, and I am something of a completist. My Russes are a good example - they're not modular with the turrets. What I mean by that is I don't own, say, 6 Russes and then have a bunch of different turrets I swap out. Instead I have one tank for every turret, so while I can put a Vanquisher or Executioner turret on any chassis, I have ones that I built specifically for those turrets.
So if I wanted 2 Stormlords and 2 Shadowswords, I'd go and buy two of each, rather than have a modular one (besides, what would I do if I wanted to field all of them at once?). For that reason I need one tank.
I can probably get away with a modular Shadowsword (so it can do the other two cannon types), that's fine, but the whole body removal thing... not sure about that.
Any toutorials for it?

I think its easier to have 2 different "bodys" as half of the variants use the same "body" so you have to swap just the guns.
And guns are only to fix at theyre base, since those plastic parts hold together even without magnets.
So 2 basic chassis plus exchangable guns may be what you search for.
A fully magnetized to fit all variants thing seems unlikely.
You need to magnetize the transport compartment at the rear, because only the stromlord doesnt use the upper engine plate.
Then you need to have removable heavy stubber emplacements, because you cant move the upper main structure back and forth if these pieces are glued on.
Would be a minimum of 6 parts to be magnetized.
-main gun mount
-both heavy stubber emplacements
-engine plate
-engine side hatch
-upper main-structure
-plus any wanted gun variants
If someone had posted a tutorial, I am not aware of it.
