Ok, I don't collect the Iron Guard, but something about them in the new Imperial Guard codex is driving me insane. It seems to me that if they're named "The Mordian Iron Guard", they should come from a planet called Mordia. However, all over the codex they refer to the planet as "Mordian". Does this bother anybody else? It would be like Americans being from American or Russians from Russian. Is this a gaff in the new codex or have they always been from "Mordian"? I suppose this also applies to Catachans, but there I know previous codii and books have listed them as being from a planet called Catachan. So which is it? Mordia or Mordian?

If it's of any value, I think they're from Mordia.

Hello Guardsmen, look at your Leman, now back to mine, now back to your Leman, now back to mine. Sadly, your Leman isn't mine, but if they stopped using standard engines and switched to Lucifer Pattern, they could move like they're mine. Look down, back up. Where are you? Your in a battlefield with the Rhino your Leman could move like. Whats in your hand, back at me, I have it, it's the fire control for the Twin-linked Assault Cannons aimed at you. Look again, it's a Deep-Striked Land-Raider. Anything is possible when your Tanks move like Blood Angels, and not like Guardsmen. I'm on a Baneblade.

Hmmm, I am split both ways but it makes sense if it is Mordian because they are the 'Mordian Iron Guard' i.e. the 'Iron Guard' from Mordian. However, you are right about the ending of the word and the Russia and Russians arguement. Tis indeed a confusing error

Sorry to burst the bubble and smother you in s..gak.

The planet is called Mordian.

Its a little stupid, and sounds wrong, but its just the way it is.

Has the planet always been called Mordian though, or is it only called that in this codex?

Ok, for others wondering the same thing, I will answer my own question. The second edition codex clearly refers to the planet as Mordia. This makes sense since saying "Hi, I'm Bill. I'm a Mordian. You've heard right, planet Mordian is unpleasant" just sounds wrong. Way to double check your publications before printing GW. They even painted "Mordian" on a chimera in the hobby section.

Well, who cares if they checked their work. They released an IG codex, that's good. Right?
