You can't say I didn't warn you ...

I've been looking at adding a Super-Heavy to my roster for some time, becuase its cool and a perfect excuse to bing in some non-superenhanced mercenaries, Adeptus Mechanicus to be exact. But with all of my other projects buying a Baneblade etc was always going to be beyond me, a dream but not a reality for some time I thought. Then I was walking past the toy section of our local supermarket and this thing said 'hello' I double-checked the price. In current exchange rate terms it was less than $20!

I didn't buy it straight away, but you can be sure I made a big mental note! I looked up piccies of Super-heavies as soon as I could and the resemblance was freaky!
You can be sure the toy tank was at the top of my shopping list for the next trip to the shops. In the meantime I started looking at SH tank designs. Choices, choices ... I hadn't realised at that point how many Imperial Super-Heavy variants there were! More about that later ...

I got the thing next trip as planned, after due consideration to things like family events I shucked it from its box and had an unimpeded view of it for the first time. It didn't dissapoint!

The design I chose eventually to transform this baby into will be up in a bit, along with the bits I have on order ...

A comment! Supercool lol Well that deserves a progress report
The design I'm going for is the Stormlord, but with the main gun at the back (dont want to shift things around too much) It'll be some low-ranked tech-appie's job to sweep the stray ejcted shells out off the front firing deck lol
The barrels for the Vulcan Mega-bolter are way too 'clean' and nice looking, never mind too unimpressive for 15 firing dice! Thus the Empire Hellblaster barrels, I'm planning to have 3 of those in a row

The couplings for the HF fuel tanks, guess which sponsons I've selected

And the tanks themselves

While I'm waiting for the bitz ex Ebay, will start stripping the toy tank, piccies soon!

Looks a good base for one can't wait to see what you do with it!

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Ask and you shall receive - eventually
Well, the toy tank is in pieces, kudos to the designers and builders of the toy - it took some serious work in places to get it this way.

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
Seriously, the main tank body is ready for reshaping. Note that I also have the fuel tanks now , thanks Ebay!

The leftover bits and pieces, some of which may make it onto the finished model in some form, the rest will be in my bitz box for later projects ...

Now the transformation can begin in earnest!
