What special weapons are on the Command and Shock Troop sprues, by chance? This would save me a ton of money if I knew exact numbers and I can't find any info on them anywhere I looked.

Thanks!

Australia, mate

The Command squad has a plasma gun, a sniper rifle, a flamer, a meltagun, a grenade launcher, a plasma pistol and a heavy flamer.

The shock troops have a flamer and grenade launcher.

That sucks. Basically, I should just buy a ton of Command Squads. Heh.

Hey em_en_oh_pee, if you're thinking what I'm thinking (aka, I want a bunch of meltaguns/plasmaguns) but don't want to have to spend $35 dollars to get one of each via command squads, GW is selling them in sprues of 5 guns for $6. Granted, this is probably highway robbery for little bits of plastic, but if you already have all the IG models you need just get the sprues.

Well, I am buying a few Battleforces and a few of the blisters with the metal melta gunner and plasma gunner. $15 for the Melta/Plas pack isn't bad and I am doing Cadians anyhow. I got it down to $650 or so for a list that can be both airborne and mechanized (just interchangeable troops). Not bad, but I get a decent discount at my local shop.

Those are metal.

Secondly, I bought a pack of those and working them into place on a Guardsmen is tougher than you think. They are slightly thicker and longer than a lasgun, and when you combine that with the angle of the guardsmen arms, you end up having to shave off the hand holding the gun, some of the shoulder, some of the metal gun, and it just gets annoying after a short while.

If you prefer to do that over spending $6, then I understand, but its gonna be a tough road of modding.

$4 for a Meltagun, $3 for a Plasmagun. Really, is that worth it? For $15 (or $10 with my discount), I get the metal models of both, which includes the trooper.

Hmm, next time I should read the product description. I was just so happy to find meltas/plasmas for sales w/o needing to buy more cmd squads! Oh well, got a couple orders of each heading my way (gets out files, bits, glue).

I thought those guns were for Space Marines, that is why it never occured to me to use them. I am not keen on buying too many Command Squads, but I will be using the extra bits to model objectives, so its not a total loss and the metal Plas/Melta pack is decent for the cost.
